    I think the best recent comparison (and potential hope for optimism) is 2016 Notre Dame. Great offense, poor defense that crashes in the regular season only to have a surprising NCAA tourney. Not saying ISU will do the same, but at least there is precedent.

    Agreed, except for one which was Notre Dame in 2016. Great offense, horrible defense and that team even had a worse late season collapse then ISU is currently having. Not promising, but there is recent precedent for late season turnaround for efficient offensive and declining defensive team.

    NWB's comments could be interpreted multiple ways. My guess is the Prohm gave a measured response intentionally, and NWB also did. They probably are not going to air everything out publicly. NWB is most likely going to follow Prohm's lead on this one.
