Just putting this out there for comment ...

There can only be one #1 seed in the B12 Tournament- indicating there is no "true" sharing of the conference season title. Dethroning Kansas would be great and why not let it be the best team who does it?

Hypothetical: Would you trade Shayock for Senior Season Niang?

I wouldn’t change anything about this current team. Offensively, they probably improve a little with Niang in a given lineup, but 2018-19 ISU is already pretty special offensively. The crux is that any offensive gain with Niang would probably be lost on defensive end.

    Football Assistant Coaching Positions

Anybody have info on why Gasser's contract was not renewed?

Why isn't EVERYBODY getting more minutes?

And while we are at it, why cannot every player give us 110% effort?

    RAGBRAI route

The best RAGBRAI years is when it is hilly, goes through Iowa's smaller towns/cities, and only the hearty riders show up. To me, the essence of the week is cycling through small town rural Iowa, traveling on undiscovered county roads, and seeing a side of Iowa most people do not understand or...

    Ole Miss and Lindell Starting?

Wigginton has been great passing this year . He is a willing passer and has probably had some of the best skilled passes on the team. Just needs to reign in his shot selection and continue to improve his defense a bit. His moment will come. It is just a matter of when.

Eight flawed teams that are dangerous enough to win a title

Yes, but what this team lacks at the moment is roster "continuity" or simply, playing together in games. I agree that ISU is actually quite experienced, but it needs some time still to emerge. A team like Nevada is the 2nd (of 353 teams) most experienced at an average age (weighted by minutes...

    We're better than Kansas

Well Halliburton does pretty much play that many minute every night. He leads the team in minutes played.

How ya goin' keep down on the farm after they've seen gay Parii?

One misconception is that farmers have a lot of wealth in terms of disposable income. Sure some might, but still majority of farmers operate year-to-year on credit and many years operate their farm at a loss (such as this year). Also, most farmers have off-farm jobs or side hustles to weather...

How ya goin' keep down on the farm after they've seen gay Parii?

Yeah bars are the easiest thing in rural Iowa to find. A gaze through the local newspaper magistrates and DUIs published tells you as much sadly.

    Guess the Spread: @ Kansas

ISU wouldn’t be favored on a neutral court. Also Vegas could care less that ISU beat Kansas by 17 a few weeks ago. Kansas will not be an underdog at home against ISU. My guess is Kansas -3.5.

    Long twos & Lindell

Good stuff. The most striking part of the article was: All expected on observations, but it is helpful to have data confirm what my hypotheses. While not every shot, it does seem like NWB is often on the raw end of having to take a long 2 late in the shot clock as the primary ball handler...

    To all the Prohm Haters...

Feel free to review the thread "Prohm in Close Games" which provides ample evidence that Prohm has a pretty solid record in late game situations. And actually during the 2016 and 2017 season Prohm deliberately wanted to the team to learn how to play slower while still being efficient- which is...

    To all the Prohm Haters...

THAT is the game of basketball. Same can be said of KSU, Baylor, or pretty much every close game played....by any team.....ever.

Why so many long 2pt shots

To challenge conventional wisdom....with many defense focusing on taking away 3 pt FGs and shots at the rim, you can get some open looks at the mid range. The key is getting the right players to take those midrange shots and that can keeps defenses honest. A pack line style defense (like what...

    Time to Start Wigg

I think people overlook THT's defensive versatility as he really allows ISU the ability to switch screens 1-4. Positionally, THT seems to often be in the right place too. THT may be struggling a bit offensively, but defensively he allows us ISU to be at its best. p.s. Wigginton is a solid...

    Prohm in Close Games

This role is an important one and I think it something that has been missing. I think it has to be Wigginton and NWB. These are the best players that have the combination of creating a shot for themselves, beating a defender on the drive, and passing out if their shot is not there. To me NWB...

    Time to Start Wigg

Honestly, who cares about who starts? Most players are more concerned about minutes. If Wigginton's ego can handle coming off the bench, why change what is currently working? What is more telling to me is who finishes. Last night Wigginton, Haliburton, NWB, Shayok, and Jacobson finished...

    To all the Prohm Haters...

KenPom has a metric for experience and minutes continuity. Experience we are 249th with a player experience mean of 1.45 years. ISU is also 310th in minutes continuity with 27.4% of the same minutes being played by the same players between this season and last season. In the context of all...
