    Thoughts on B12 Future

Ahead of writing for this week, and in an attempt to avoid blathering on in an article, I had a thought that I would love to get feedback on. I think Neal Brown, Matt Wells, Chris Klieman, Lincoln Riley, Mike Gundy, Gary Patterson, won't acknowledge Baylor, and Tom Herman are good coaches...

EPISODE VII: The Invasion of Lub’bock

That is an excellent question and observation. Isn’t it interesting that Breece has gobbled up almost all of the snaps the last two games? It may be just a recognition of his production level being so high and a feeling that there are solid reserves in case of injury. But, after Kene botched...

EPISODE VII: The Invasion of Lub’bock

Yes, I wrote about that very thing in several of the post game pieces. Hall seems to have an added ability to not just finish a run, but see a path to the end zone and put his effort behind that. The opponents have helped, but when an opponent is poor you have to finish them off and Hall...

Jay Jordan: West Virginia film review

I texted Woody about it. Said you only notice blitz pick up when it is really good or really poor. Hall’s showed physical prowess and really good recognition. it portends of a three down back. It boosts Oline confidence. Really important part of the game.

Jay Jordan - At the End of the Day...ULM

11 means 1 tight end and 1 running back. 11, 12, 21, 22, empty, etc. the first number is RB, the second number is TE. So, an 11 still involves a tight end and they still matter in the passing game.

Jay Jordan - At the End of the Day...ULM

I think the tight ends are really contributing in the blocking scheme and we will see that become a big deal in Big 12 play. They handle some of the overhang players Big 12 defenses are accustomed to using to play against the read option. If there are multiple big blockers to account for that...

Yes. That was emblematic of his play since becoming a starter.

    JAY JORDAN: UNI film review

Just a quick reply...the blocking in the run game was better than we have seen from these guys. We have rarely seen any explosive plays in the run game. Just the fact that there were opportunities is an encouraging sign. That said, the RB’s missed some things, and failed to break some arm...

    UNI Q&A -- Jay Jordan

On a fold, let's say the tackle is folding inside of the guard with a 3 tech DT in the way. The Guard will post the 3 tech while the tackle steps around the guard to the inside and makes his way through the A gap to the filling LB. That is why I said it is like using a full back to lead through...

    UNI Q&A -- Jay Jordan

This deserves an article of its own, but ISU used fold blocking and pin and pull significantly in 2016 and 2017 to the detriment of overmatched lineman. They moved away from that last year and the line made marginal improvements late in the year. I expect that we will see some more of it this...

    UNI Q&A -- Jay Jordan

I hope the security blanket is the receiver that is open and that the ball is distributed through proper reads through the progression. The TE's are not check down receivers in this offense. They are primary and are field stretchers. Which is a match-up based motif. ISU feels that the TE's...

    UNI Q&A -- Jay Jordan

So, this is a significant reason for the work I do for this site. Cyclone fans are polite and just good folks at heart. It was a reason I chose to go to Iowa State a million years ago and it persists today. There is a lot of time and effort that goes in to the analysis. There is a lot of time...

My phone app says 60% with the highest likelihood in the morning. All of my assumptions are based on a solid weather day, soooo, I guess they are only delivered with 60% certainty.
