How does Kentucky Meet Grad. Requirements?

I wonder how many of those guys will come back after their NBA careers are over to finish off their degrees in basket weaving? Everyone needs a backup plan...

    Nick Babb

Knowing his brother's skill set... (defensively in particular) he would be worth taking a look at. Lil' Babb might not be as skilled offensively (he can develop) but seeing that he spent a year at Arkansas with their defensive style and his brother's reputation maybe this kid could develop...

    Matt A's replacement speculation

Wayne was a good recruiter because he got his first big time job as the bagman for Jim Boeheim at Syracuse and spent 12 years there handing out the cash under the table to the recruits.

    Would you welcome Otz back?

The situation for Doc at Southern Miss isn't exactly ideal right now. From what I've heard the previous regime there committed some pretty major NCAA violations and the program is about to get hammered, he may lose his best player due to this mess, others may choose to leave the program, and...

    "Defense wins championships"

Cut the turnovers from 21 to 15 or 16 and Baylor wins that game.

"IF" Fred leaves, who do you want to see replace?

Will they replace Matt A on the bench with a side salad? If so count me in... I'm on board with this.

    "Defense wins championships"

If you look at the majority of ISU's losses this year the offense struggled but the defense was a flat out disaster. When you are getting worked by Texas Tech from the perimeter, in the paint, in the half court, and in transition... you have defensive issues.

    Fizer wants the Gig

If a former player were going to get a look the first guy on that list should be Dedric Willoughby. The guy was a skills development coach for the Atlanta Hawks and is currently the Head Skills Development and S&C Assistant coach for a high school program down in Georgia.

A perfect example... the Oklahoma Sooners under Lon Kruger 2011-2012 Ranked 172nd in defensive efficiency = 0 Big XII Tourney wins & 0 NCAA Tourney wins 2-12 record versus RPI top 50 2012-2013 Ranked 124th in defensive efficiency = 0 Big XII Tourney wins & 0 NCAA Tourney wins 3-7 record...

    "Defense wins championships"

I agree... Kentucky absolutely smothered West Virginia with their relentless defense and rendered them completely ineffective on the offensive end. West Virginia had absolutely no chance in that game. Kentucky's defense simply shut them down from start to finish. What did the Mountaineers...

Question for Thought. Is this KY Team the most dominant BB team in College History.

Re: Question for Thought. Is this KY Team the most dominant BB team in College Hist In my opinion this rule for graduate transfers is one of the few great decisions that the NCAA has made. Kids like BDJ and Kane stayed the course and graduated from college. I feel this rule rewards them...

Defense and Length wins in March

We will find out on Saturday night. I saw a tweet that said in the era of "KenPom" stats Wisconsin has the best offense ever and Kentucky has the best defense ever.

Coach Matt A to St. Johns

Re: Coach Matt A This is true... to an extent. Does anyone think that coach Otz is closer to getting a shot at a head coaching gig after his move to the University of Washington? They had a nice 16-15 record this year with a whopping 5 conference wins in the Pac 12. Or... would he have...

Defense and Length wins in March

I would say that in general teams with great D are a bit more consistent because they will almost always be in the game regardless of opponent. Teams with great offenses and bad D are the teams that are vulnerable because one bad shooting night will usually end in a loss regardless of opponent.

Defense and Length wins in March

The simple formula for teams to make runs in March is to dominate their opponent in one of several key areas and keep the other areas fairly close. 1. Defense 2. Turnovers 3. Rebounding 4. Shooting overall 5. FT shooting 6. Shooting from 3 Duke won the turnover battle by 10 against Gonzaga...

Question for Thought. Is this KY Team the most dominant BB team in College History.

Re: Question for Thought. Is this KY Team the most dominant BB team in College Hist That would be a good start. I think most people take issue with the way Calipari is running the program at Kentucky. Stockpiling a roster filled with 1 year rental players isn't exactly what college...

Question for Thought. Is this KY Team the most dominant BB team in College History.

Re: Question for Thought. Is this KY Team the most dominant BB team in College Hist It is all about skills. These guys are bigger, stronger, and more athletic then they have ever been. Watch the Kentucky bigs... they are dominant but it isn't because they are skilled. They use their...

Question for Thought. Is this KY Team the most dominant BB team in College History.

Re: Question for Thought. Is this KY Team the most dominant BB team in College Hist I'm comparing elite college players from back in the day to the elite college players of today. There is no comparison.
