    Wiltz doing track

If he was offered by either school, yes! Blood runs deep but not many turn down 1-A scholarships for 1-AA scholarships. UNI and NDSU was his best offer.

    Wiltz doing track

Speaking of track athletes and football players. IMO it looks like both Iowa State and Iowa missed on Jalen Rima from CRP. UNI is getting a burner with good size.

    Wiltz doing track

I didn't call him a bum. 22.02 is a below avg time in college. If he is doing something below avg in track, he should focus on football.

    Wiltz doing track

If Ryen is running 22.02 in the prelims he should probably concentrate on football.

Question regarding Fort Dodge RB Sam Cooke

Sam is thinking about 3 options. Preferred walk-on at Iowa. Preferred walk-on at Ohio State. Scholarship to wrestle at Oklahoma. Iowa State has not done anything with him on the football side or wrestling side. The kid wants to play football in college and will more than likely turn down a...

    Chris Ash to Rutgers

Congrats to coach ash. "Lateral Move" to Wisconsin and coat tail rider are bad posts. Wisconsin>ISU. Worked his way up for the position he is in. Didn't ride any coat tails. Very quality coach and this is well deserved.

    Sam Cook

Averaging 12 yards a carry so far this year and is 12th all time in class 4a. Has the chance to move up that list and pass names like Tavian Banks, Tim Dwight and Aaron Greving.

    DeAndre Jackson

Jamar Buchanon (sp) played more significant down than Carper played that year. Carper started early Jamar played more later in the season.

No one that knows Hioberg, including Hornacek will take this job with Pollard still around.

PODCAST: Jeff Woody on Iowa State Football

former Sam backer and safety at iowa state here and in my mind that play fell as much if not more on the safety being wrong. The Sam wasn't good but that play wasn't just on him.

PODCAST: Jeff Woody on Iowa State Football

So if the slb gets cracked isn't it the safety's job to replace and not have his eyes in the backfield and run clear accross the field? The slb is apexing the #2 wr and end man on the line of scrimmage. If flow is to him he probably is boxing the fb which he would have done a poor job doing but...

PODCAST: Jeff Woody on Iowa State Football

He probably was the flat defender but he was cracked. The safety more than likely should crack and replace. For you to say that was on him for a blown assignment is out of line. How do you know the corner shouldn't have been a hard corner and the flat defender. I am not a brackens fan but you...

    So how bout our Receivers

Blythe better than #1 guy this yr. Flynn comparable to #2 guy this yr. Davis not as good as #3 guy this yr. RJ Summeral wasn't a bad #4 guy in 2005 either. Potential is there for this group but the 2005 team had better guys at other positions, which helped the wrs.

Five thoughts on the start of spring football

Mike LB will have someone other than Seely or Harris playing imo. One of the wills peters/mills will be there. Possible for a 30 front this yr as well.

    Sam Cook

Fyi on Cook won 195lb class 3a wrestling. Uni and ndsu both showing interest. Iowa state should prob stay with those 3*s from Florida lbs tho

Would You Give Sage A Chance?

Kingsbury spent 4 yrs as an OC. Sage has spent 4hrs as a TV analyst. Don't compare the two. Why not hire Tim dobbins as the dc and Seneca as the OC while you're at it. The next HC at isu will not be a former player; there is not one out there qualified.
