I’m amazed by the memories that some of my fellow CF’ers have when it comes to wins/losses and the colors of our uniforms! I can’t even remember what I wore yesterday?!?
McGregor is a quaint little river town with shops, wineries, and restaurants. Marquette has a casino. Worth visiting sometime, stop at Pike’s Peak park for amazing views of the Mississippi!
It would be a couple hours drive for you, but hiking trails/biking trails along the Mississippi River are beautiful. Amana colonies aren’t too far from Grinnell. Drive up to Humboldt on Sunday for the wrestling match versus Wisconsin.
Watched on TV, liked the blue lights! Also, loved the black uniforms with the blue accent! Wish we’d try doing the same with our blacks with red accents.
And just moments ago on CR Fox TV, after showing the hawkeye men’s basketball highlights, the sportscaster said “Iowa could be a dark horse to win the Big Ten!” Brainwashed is the only explanation!
Coach Orr’s return to Hilton, Coach Hoiberg stepping off to the side, allowing Johnny to lead the way onto the floor, shaking his fist to the Tonight Theme song, and then beating #7 ranked Michigan! I was there with my son. Chills!
“In the olden days”…(1980’s) we shook our keys on 3rd downs (and 4th downs if opponents were going for it), get it? They were “key plays”!
Not sure when or why the key shaking was changed to kick offs?!? We used the swirly tornado motion on kick offs.
