"Paul Rhodes is a good football coach"

Iowa doesn't win because of "stability." Iowa wins because they DO have a good football coach in charge of their program. He was a question mark early on but he's since PROVED IT. They develop talent like crazy. The jury is still out on CPR. He hasn't proven that he is a good coach even...

"Paul Rhodes is a good football coach"

For the record, I have never once claimed he was out-coached today. I would not make that argument, either.

"Paul Rhodes is a good football coach"

Oh and BTW I generally think Chiz is/was a tremendous ****** and I'm not sure he's a good coach, either, but I think he gets a bad rap for his coaching abilities among those in our fan base. I think he would have had similar results to what we have seen from CPR over this year and last.

"Paul Rhodes is a good football coach"

What is wrong with asking the question? Everyone seems to accept that he's a good coach as a fact--almost like accepting that the sky is blue. I want to know why this is and I note no one has come up with much. BTW, note that you called me "dumb" yet you agreed with my point.

    Jamie Pollard

It isn't JP's fault we lost. There is no proof we would have won either game if it were played in Ames. That doesn't change the fact the decision to play these 2 games in KC was a silly decision. We took a direct financial hit and gave up a home game. It cost the local economy a good amount...

"Paul Rhodes is a good football coach"

Re: "Paul Rhoads is a good football coach" That's what I'm getting at, right here. You DO understand when so many do not. It's beeing widely accepted we have a good coach. I can't say I know that yet. The post you replied to was the other side of the argument that he's a good coach...

"Paul Rhodes is a good football coach"

Are we sure he is getting better players than what we have now? This recruiting class makes me want to look away from my computer screen. Our player development will need to be off the charts good if he plans to keep recruiting players virtually no one else wants. Again, sorry for the timing...

"Paul Rhodes is a good football coach"

Re: "Paul Rhoads is a good football coach" Do we really have significantly less talent than KSU? I do not think so. We both have good RBs, questionable QBs and no defense. BTW, I note Coach Snyder is also 2 years into his program, and they canned their last coach, yet Snyder he's beaten...

"Paul Rhodes is a good football coach"

Fans and TV talking head/sports radio types say this all the time. How do we know this is true? Maybe a better question is "How do we know he is a good HEAD football coach"? Can anyone explain to me why this is so widely accepted as a fact?

Just a thought, why haven't Nebraska and Colorado been scrubbed from Big 12 promos?

Re: Just a thought, why haven't Nebraska and Colorado been scrubbed from Big 12 promo Because we still want people to watch the games they play in. Silly question.

? Do you not watch much football? They did away with that rule many years ago.

2 years in a row Arnaud misses wide open guy against KSU for TD and win

No, it's not valid. Even if he hits Robinson we are just down a point. Even if we make the XPT, which is nothing to take lightly, we are still only tied.

The gap between Iowa and ISU is widening

Think what you will but... 11 starters on offense: They return 6. They rotate TEs and the #2 is a junior. They rotate RBs and the #2 is coming back. They rotate in WRs and 1 of them is coming back. Their backup QB has started on the road and played well. He'll be back 2 years older...

The gap between Iowa and ISU is widening

To claim that contininuity is key is correct but it's so much more complicated than that. If you have a coaching staff that isn't any good, they can coach for 100 years and still not be any good. We caught some breaks and had a nice season last year. That doesn't make this coaching staff...

The gap between Iowa and ISU is widening

Chris Babb averaged 9 PPG in the Big 10. Allen averaged 8. Our definitions of "big time" differ, apparently. Furthermore, Royce White never played a game in the Big 10 conference and I'm not even convinced he will ever play a game for us. I don't think it matters much that you personally can't...

One thing is for sure, we need more size and speed at LB. Being both slow and small is not a good combination.

Picture that sums up Saturday for the hawks...

Clayborn may not have had a lot of tackles but you can't say he wasn't disruptive. AA's girfriend doesn't touch him as often as Clayborn did on Saturday.

The gap between Iowa and ISU is widening

There has been very little gap between ISU and Iowa in hoops. Both programs have been in rough shape for a few years now. But to say the "gap is widening" is premature. Neither program has played a game under their new coach and it remains to be seen whether our mashed up group of players can...
