IZZO SUSPENDED FOR TOMORROW'S GAME FOR SECONDARY VIOLATION - Yardbarker Oh NCAA, you are so funny sometimes.

    Death to the BCS

I have been arguing that a 16 team playoff would kill the smaller bowls and the current levels of excitement that are created by the regular season. I don't think ISU has much of a chance to be involved in any type of BCS/Old System/16 Team Tourney. If anything, a 16 team tourney would...

Cost of Going to BCS Bowl for UConn

I'm curious as to where you got the $132 million number? Is that the amount that the NCAA made off the bowls and the TV rights? I apologize in advance for not reading the articles you posted, the answer is probably somewhere in there.

    Death to the BCS

I'm with ya. If I was the ruler of all that is college football I would go back to the old bowl systems. Put a cap on the number of bowls. (Insert lots of other money related boring stuff here) And after the Rose, Orange, Sugar, Cotton, etc. bowls were played I would choose the most deserving...

    Death to the BCS

He has made it clear that he doesn't care about any bowl or ISU being involved. He is concerned with CFB determining a champion - that's it.

    Death to the BCS

I am not even sure what everyone is even arguing about in this thread anymore. Is the BCS system flawed - Yes Would a 16 team playoff be awesome - Yes, but there would still be flaws with it too Does anyone have the Most Excellent Idea that makes CFB the best possible sport? - No, otherwise...

    Death to the BCS

I don't think anyone is supporting the BCS as it currently stands. Many of us are making the argument that a 16 team play-off would be the eventual death blow to the mid/lower level bowls. Personally, I would like to see a +1 system. There are very few years where I think the #5 team in the...

    Big 10 Rethinking Division Names

The B1GT2N loves its hyphens so I think the Johnson-Koulianos-Clarett Award would be the winner by a margin as slim as a line of DJK's nose candy.

    Pre Season Football Predictions...join in

Is RGIII really thinking about going pro? I always thought he was a great college QB and was destined to be a Antwaan Randle El type NFL player. Not sure why he would leave early and go pro to be a WR, and I don't think that happens very often.

But each award has an hyphenated name so it would be the Johnson-Koulianos-Clarett Award. Thus making it the most prestigious as well.

    Death to the BCS

You are right, I don't believe that the school presidents really care about the health of their players or their grades as long as the schools themselves can make more money. I do not agree that the 7% of schools that would benefit from having another home game would be able to out-vote the...

    Death to the BCS

Ignoring the rest of your post, a 16 game playoff would provide more home games for 8 schools. That would be less than 7% of the schools benefiting from an extra home game each year.

    Death to the BCS

I believe it would lesson the regular season excitement, not do away with it. Similarly, the current system does provide some excitement for certain bowl games. My point is you would be making bowl season more exciting and the regular season less exciting. Or flipping the current arrangement.

    Death to the BCS

Do you realize that the bowls suck that money from the schools in order to pay the conferences, who in turn give it right back to the schools? I'm sure each school will get rich in an NCAA FB Playoff just like they do for the BBall Tourney? The NCAA makes an ABSOLUTE killing on the MBB...

    Death to the BCS

While we are arguing the same side, I think you are a bit too much doom and gloom for Iowa State. Assuming everything were to stay relatively static conference wise (which I don't think would realistically be the case) under a 16 game playoff each conference champion would be allowed to...

    Death to the BCS

If you are a college football fan then what do you have against the current system? The exclusivity of the BCS games makes CFB the most exciting regular season in sports. How pumped are you getting for a week 10 game between Bama and Auburn if you know that a #16 9-3 Alabama is going to make...

    Death to the BCS

Why? Because a playoff would have to be run by the NCAA. Currently the individual bowl committees run the bowl games. If there was ever to be a playoff, the NCAA would have to be involved and thus the schools would likely make less money. This is one of the many reasons why the school...

    Big 10 Rethinking Division Names

I'm sure "the people who hate America" are on the edges of their seats waiting for the B1GT2N's conference divisional names to be announced.

    Death to the BCS

All you are doing is highlighting that the entire bowl system is broken. Nobody is arguing that. Bowls force schools to buy 10,000+ tickets at full value when the fans can get them for much cheaper at StubHub. The bowls use that money to pay the conferences the guarantees that the conferences...
