    "Next" Saturday

    I would say "what are you doing Saturday" because it's implied to be two days from now. That's why I said all it takes is clarity or clarification if there's any misunderstanding.

    "next" means the nearest upcoming event. so "next saturday" means the nearest upcoming saturday. but... "this saturday means the same thing. just ask for clarification - no one is right or wrong. it's like when people say "it's quarter of 5" when meaning 4:45 PM.
