    Homeowners insurance claims

The good news is that now large health care systems are also getting into the insurance business, so now Webster has a new example to use when defining “moral hazard.”

    Homeowners insurance claims

It’s almost as though homes/autos/salaries/operating expenses/everything is also getting more expensive, but it’s probably just that they are trying to screw you. Ok, maybe a little of both.

    Transfer Portal Tracker

The 25 annual limit got suspended indefinitely in 2021 when everyone suddenly had to do COVID math around scholarships. They voted this fall to keep it that way. It doesn’t make sense to not let a team fill all 85 scholarships if they get pillaged in the portal every year.

    Transfer Portal Tracker

In theory, this can happen twice. Once at any time, once more after graduating. When the free one-time transfer was announced, I understood it to mean the end of the immediately eligible grad-transfer, but that doesn’t seem to be what happened. We’ll see if they stick to their guns about not...

    Ames Lager

Purely anecdotal, but more seems to be hitting Ames sellers on “delivery Friday.” It just still flies off the shelves.

I gotta say, if that’s true and he does end up leaving… having never turned down a 7-figure check, myself, I think it would be tough to be too critical. Unless he goes to Texas or Iowa.

I don’t know what ISU spent, but I feel like our 7-5 was probably a better ROI

Is there any reason that Rhule might be rounding up? (Yes. There is.)

To be considered defamation in Iowa, a statement must be made negligently or with malice, so you should be good to go*. *Not a lawyer.

    Plundering the Portal

The portal isn’t open to non-grad transfers until December 4, so any offers (that we actually hear about) prior to then will likely be 1-year guys. I’d expect that to change soon enough.

    Jeremiah Cooper NIL representation

Yes, but just as with coaching searches, it’s good to consider who might be leaking this, and why. Then take with appropriate grain(s) of salt.

There have been studies done that show exactly this. Now excuse me while I drop 6 figures trying to get my kid a 1/4 scholarship on some non-revenue sport.

    LE podcast

I once heard, from a credible source who may or may not have ties to this site, that there was an entire practice devoted to running around while holding bricks in the air. DURING conference play.

    Ward injured ☹️

Matt Campbell has listed updated Ward’s status as “day-to-day.”

    Ward injured ☹️

I think, in the case of Rock, if he was ready to crack the rotation they’d absolutely burn the red-shirt. With all the things you mentioned, plus the NBA, playing the long game and considering his eligibility in 27-28 would not be shrewd.

Independence Bowl on December 16th question.

What I was told during my time at ISU: 1) a professor is not required to excuse you from anything or reschedule tests. They can require you to be there or fail. 2) Everyone is aware that doing so would NOT be a shrewd career move. If that’s ISU’s best bowl option, they will absolutely make it...

I never thought I’d say this, but Jeff Hornacek might be surpassed by Tyrese Haliburton as greatness in the NBA!

Barkley was also going into the last year of his contract and it was apparent that he wouldn’t resign with the 76ers. They made that trade to make sure that they ended up with something for him.

    Ames Lager Update

Not to beat a dead horse, but have you asked them to stock it? I know it was a supply/demand problem initially, but every time I’ve asked a Hy-Vee (or Fareway) to get something, even if it’s a special order for me, they make it happen.

Hoiberg was probably right that social media will be the end of us, but early specialization in youth sports will be an accelerant. The crazy part is that I don’t think anyone really believes it’s good for the kids, either. There’s just too much money on the table for the leagues. On the flip...
