    49ers - Brock Purdy - Still and Always #1

They are singed for 4 years. Sometimes with a 5th year option that the team can pickup. You can't negociate a new contract until after the 3rd year (after next year). He just completed his 2nd year. So he is stuck on his rookie deal. For now at least.

Only Purdy I believe. They were looking for an excuse and found it.

Talking about gloves for QB's and the grip in bad weather.

The hands are over blown. But I'd like to see him get used to the glove for the rain. Kurt Warner played with gloves routinely. Especially in wet weather. I just think he has to get used to the feel more and not take it off so soon. He should practice that in the off season. Dunk a ball in...

    49ers - Brock Purdy - Still and Always #1

The talent, team composition, organization, winning attitude and history is far better where he is. His career will be better overall just staying where he is. I would like to see him work with the glove a bit and get better at handling a wet ball. It's just something he needs to get used to...

I think he's better and certainly younger with more upside than Cousins. But you can't have him. We aren't giving him up. No way. :D

It's hard to disagree in some sense. I love sports. But I see the problem and the deep unfairness. In some ways societies priorities are all mixed up. But as long as they keep getting TV money and revenue from advertising and revenue sharing you will see this continue. The fans I suppose...

    49ers - Brock Purdy - Still and Always #1

Dak is way over paid to CHOKE every year in the Playoffs. Franchise QB's are generally hugely over paid. But what can you do about that? Just like a baseball pitcher who gets hundreds of millions. These people are getting paid more than CEO's. To play a game. Kind of doesn't make societal...

    49ers - Brock Purdy - Still and Always #1

They will probably have to give up some stuff. When his contract comes due. But he's on the rookie deal for at least 1 more year and maybe 2. They can't even negotiate with him until the end of next year. Cap goes up each year. They will keep some and lose some guys. 49ers need to keep...

Stop this Minnesota Vikings junk. LOL. He's not going there. He will stay a 49ers player and our starter for a long time to come. Cousins is rehabbing the injury and I think he will come back there for the Vikings and be the starter. In no way can you say Cousins has been better in the...

Like Nick WRONG. He likes to do ridiculous HOT TAKES to tick off fans. It gets ratings and people fighting with him. It's part of his game.

There are a lot of doubts and double standards around him. I personally think very unfairly so. But he could have won it this year. It was the Ravens game that tanked him. Gave the doubters a reason to go against him. Which they already wanted and were looking for. Because of their...

    49ers - Brock Purdy - Still and Always #1

He would have had 4,500 + and say 34 TD's this year. Had they played him the last game. He rested because they had the #1 seed wrapped up. Looks fantastic for a 2nd year player. To 11 interceptions. Nothing wrong with that and it would be ahead of Brees at that stage in his career.

Physically Brees was not that either. He got mentally better. Better at processing, reads and progressions, timing and anticipation, get the ball out quick, make the right decision, excellent mechanics and accuracy. All those were good for Brees but got even BETTER. The best years for Brees...

    49ers - Brock Purdy - Still and Always #1

Yes but I think he WILL GET BETTER. People forget he is really a 1.5 year player. Media and fans talk about him like he's a 10 year veteran. With Drew Brees he was good but nowhere near the 5,000 yard plus guy until much later. Living here in San Diego I saw a lot of his early career. You...

    49ers - Brock Purdy - Still and Always #1

Burrow and Purdy are the best chances to be back. I would not call Purdy mediocre. His season and stats and even how well he has played in the playoffs do not suggest that. Those 2 have the best chance to be back. Others on the list have some sub par guys in there. No doubt about it. Goff...

You got an NFL forum and a Chiefs sub forum. So it probably is more appropriate in there. This is the Brock Purdy thread.

Yes I agree next year is their best chance of the next few. Some restructuring was done so I don't think their cap is that bad. Not too many key guys up this year. A few will leave. But nothing catastrophic for 2024 season that could prevent us from being back. Brock could be back in there...

    49ers - Brock Purdy - Still and Always #1

His best chance is right where he is. Further it's not a super team. There are holes on the offensive line and defensive secondary. Coaching is bad in the big games too with Shanahan. Not a perfect team like the fans think. He gets no credit when he wins and all the blame when he loses...
