BIG looks bad. Yet the Big 12 is 1-3 against that bad conference.

    Ending Iowa's Dominance

It's virtually a 50/50 split since breaking the Iowa 15 year streak. ISU is 10-11 over the past 21 years in the series. But, ISU has only won 5 of the past 16 CyHawk games. No one 20 or under will think of this as an even series. ISU has built up their facilities, has built up the fan...

***Official Big 12 Expansion Thread '16***

We should remember that fan bases can change when complaining about attendance at Cincy and UCONN last night. A - They were Thursday games B - I was in Trice in the mid 80's with crowds that might not have hit 20k C - Even in the late 90's Jack Trice was averaging 35k-39k D - A jump to the Big...

When did you attend your first ISU football game and opponent - score?

Missouri @ Iowa St 1985. My memory is Alex Espinoza hit about 10 receivers right in the numbers only to have them drop the ball. ISU got down early and made it close at the end before losing. There was maybe 20k in the stands that day. No real tailgating. Totally different world on game day...

Apathy is officialy here for the football team

I don't think apathy has set in at all. ISU was averaging under 40k less than a decade ago. Now we got 43k for a non-con opponant and it was also a night game. That's not bad. I can remember sitting in Jack Trice in the 80's with MAYBE 20k at the stadium...and that was a conference game...

    ISU students wearing Iowa gear

You see ISU gear in Iowa City and you see Iowa gear in Ames. Nothing new here. And not really a big deal. In 1987 I visited some of my ISU friends. We went to the tailgate and then headed back to their dorms and watched the Iowa game on TV. The dorms were packed with Iowa fans watching...

Kansas AD Big 12 members signed 10 year deal

So you're basically going with the argument that if a woman if the victim of spousal abuse, but her husband is really rich, it is better to stay with him because she will be richer with him than on her own. At the end of the day it's about standing up for what is right. Now we find out that...

Kansas AD Big 12 members signed 10 year deal

So Texas will be holding the other conference schools hostage for another 10 years. Great!!! I think Texas played the entire college athletics community here. They scared Colorado and Nebraska out of the Big 12. Flirted with the Pac-10 enough to get the remaining Big 12 schools to let Texas...

    Gangsta move by Texas!

Re: Texas releases statement This just makes me think Texas will carry a bigger stick in setting the rules in the conference. Yeah, it's great to still be in the Big 12. But at what cost?

    Would Iowa?

My opinion is 16 team leagues won't work. You will get 8 schools in 1 division thinking they are better than the other division and why should they split of all that TV money with that weaker other division. With 16 teams 1 division will get to the point where they hardly play or know the...

    Notre Dame could fix everything

Notre Dame needs to make a move. In a 12 team Big Ten they could still play USC, Boston College, Navy and whoever in their non-con. If they go to the Big Ten now and the Big Ten stops at 12 they are in good. Once the Big Ten goes to 16 Notre Dame would then lose those non-con games and they...

    What a kick

I suppose, in the end, if you are a fan you are a fan. It shouldn't matter where ISU is playing. No matter what the future holds, I suspect Jack Trice will be full during September games and be half to 3/4 full during by late October - early November games. I don't think it will matter what...

    What a kick

The old set up in college football was perfect for a small school to bring in the right type of coach and build themselves a program. With the super conference idea that is on the verge of happening we will see a set of blue bloods built up with no chance for other schools to join their party...

    What a kick

ISU has right now in Paul Rhoads and Fred Hoiberg two young coaches that want to be here. And coaches that can bring a sustained level of success to their programs. The trick, is for ISU to somehow land themselves in some sort of BCS type conference. Be that keeping the Big 12 together, or...
