    Aldi Spicy Honey

This isn't exactly true. The two brothers split and operated entirely separate companies after an argument in the 60's. They formed Aldi Sud and Aldi Nord. Aldi Sud operates the Aldi stores we know in the US. Aldi Nord bought Trader Joe's in '76. They aren't related anymore at all.

Passionate Plea To Diehard Cyclone Fanatics

Mission accomplished. I only ask that none of my money be used by Jared to buy crappy beer to review. Good beer is allowed.

Passionate Plea To Diehard Cyclone Fanatics

I subscribed earlier this year and then lost my job days later. I'm working again as of last week so count me in.

Children of the 90's: Surge or Jolt?

Surge...because Friley Hall food service had it at the fountain drink station. If you mix surge and milk together it forms a bit off a volcanic bubble over leaving you with this sort of white paste in the bottom of your glass. I don't envy the dishwashers at food service.

    Alternative Investment Ideas?

This^ I think Midwest towns about 45 minutes from the larger cities are about the only thing with some regular value right now. It's close enough to town that people are increasingly willing to look that far out and cost of living is pretty low. I'm talking outside cities like KC, Omaha, Des...

    Alternative Investment Ideas?

First off, Cash is trash. Let's not confuse purchasing power vs. true capital appreciation via investment. Your purchasing power is going to evaporate if you hold US dollars or companies with low growth primarily exposed to the US. US stocks might go up, but most won't really increase your...

    Grout in a mud-set shower...

It's takes like 5 minutes to mix up a tiny amount of grout. A small can of the powder is like 5 bucks. Wipe it clean about 30 minutes later with a sponge or rag.

Kansas City area Fanatics - living in KC advice

The district tilts moderate democrat. I've seen 3 separate BLM peaceful protests within 5 blocks of my house. Never seen a blue lives matter shirt here. The first house in the subdivision proudly displays an "all are welcome" sign in several languages, and they're over 75 years old. Cargo...

Kansas City area Fanatics - living in KC advice

Brookside, Fairway, and Prairie Village are dramatically overpriced and the people that live in those areas are convinced they live in Zion. I have friends that live in those areas, and they can go ahead and continue to pay huge real estate taxes on their tiny bungalow and one car carriage...

Kansas City area Fanatics - living in KC advice

Housing supply is tight here right now. Very little for sale from 150-450k, and the few that come to market are selling within days, receiving multiple offers. Lee's Summit is a good option on the Missouri side. I live on a .75 wooded lot in the middle of Lenexa, but those properties are...

Kansas City area Fanatics - living in KC advice

School's are better on the Johnson county KS side. Taxes are better on the Missouri side, but avoid living in KC, MO. Blue Valley is the school district most want their kids in, but the other school districts on the Kansas side, (Olathe, Shawnee Mission) seem to be fine.

    Tire recommendation needed

I have a local shop that primarily puts on Hankook tires. They are great to work with, and the Hankook tires were value priced. Quality was just ok. I liked the tires on my old SUV, but the tires for my Audi aren't that great. They started out pretty awesome, but tread life was not living up...

    North Shore MN recommendations

Don't know. It's easy to get to from both sides I think. The rest stop is literally in view of the border crossing. I don't think the border is open to tourism right now.

    North Shore MN recommendations

If you get all the way up to Grand Marais, might as well stop right before the border crossing at the rest stop. It's a short jaunt to Pigeon Falls from the rest stop, which is the tallest waterfall in MN. If you're lucking you can wave at a Canadian on the other side.

    North Shore MN recommendations

Split Rock Lighthouse is cool and the tour is worth it. Walk the trail down to the shore as it's a cool view. Pick up a guide to the waterfalls. Several are easy trails of less than 2 miles from the lake shore highway. We probably hiked to 5 of them over the course of a week, with a 4 year...

    Weed killer

This is likely the best choice, but will kill just about anything green that's not resistant. Go to the hardware store and buy a bottle of glyphosate concentrate (generic roundup). Mix and apply according to label instructions. Be careful not the spray stuff you don't want to kill. I can...

    Weed killer

What are you trying to kill? Herbicides work best when weeds are actively growing. Applying in summer is best done after a it's rained, but the leaves are dry, and in the evening after temps have cooled down.

Trade away everyone, but I think the 10 year returns on indexes will be near zero with the PE ratios at current levels. The market as a whole isn't an investment at these levels. The SEC is proposing entirely new rules on how the markets disseminate trades and the corresponding information...

    Grub question for lawn aficianados

A few grubs aren't in issue. There are quick kill products that you can use right now if you think it's bad enough. I won't run a quick kill product unless I'm finding a lot per square ft. The quick kill grub control will not prevent future grubs, so if you want to kill them now and...

Fertilizing my lawn for initial spring application

I side discharge in my backyard and at this point everyone know I'm a lawn nut. My 36" mower I use in the back didn't come with a mulch kit and I don't feel the need to buy one. Side discharge is fine too. It breaks down no problem as long as I'm mowing regularly.
