    nance and kellogg??

In response to swarthmoreCY - CBS owns the broadcast rights for the Final 4. They could choose to offer the game on truTV with Gus, TBS with Rafftery, and TNT with Barkley if they were so inclined. I'm pretty sure they could also set it up (or at least write it into the contract) to be able to...

    nance and kellogg??

I don't understand why for big games like this CBS, or whomever owns the broadcast rights, doesn't offer a pay-per-view with different announcers. You can't tell me they wouldn't be able to at least cover Gus' travel cost and fee with a $9.99 channel for me to choose to listen to him call the game.

    NBA Draft early entrants

I didn't word my statement correctly. I meant to say that sitting on an NBA bench does not improve the player as much as playing in the NCAA would. DRose came in and played. If you are a underclassmen and can go early to the league and actually play then by all means you should go. I'm...

    NBA Draft early entrants

I disagree. Name me a player that has left early and gotten better with "NBA coaching" and I'll name 10 that haven't. There really aren't that many practices in the NBA. They guys play 4/5 games a week and the starters take the off days and don't practice. You'll have walk throughs and what...

    NBA Draft early entrants

I agree but I think players (and probably more specifically agents) are starting to realize that unless you are good enough to get at least 20+ min off the bench in the NBA then it is a smarter career choice to stay in school and actually improve your game.

    NBA Draft early entrants

The NBA is more likely to be locked out next year than the NFL. That combined with the fact that there aren't all that many "can't miss" uber-talented prospects this year means I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of college players went back to school next year.

    USMNT vs. Argentina (3/26)

Even more reason to go. I'm sure we could get 1 of the TVs to show the bball game.

What if there was more at large 12 seeds?

+1 and 12/12 games are typically more interesting to the casual fan anyway.

Why UC Santa Barbara beats Florida

Pick any other team than Hampton and you are right. If Hampton beats Duke I promise you that we will be brought up multiple times during that telecast and the following reactionary pieces.

NFL: Adrian Peterson says NFL is like modern day slavery

While his comment is ludicrous, everything else he says in the article is pretty good. The writer even came out today and said he wishes he would have left the 'slavery' quote out of the story. That said, the 'slavery' quote is what is generating readers for his story, so I bet he doesn't...

    That Wacky Big East Tournament

Actually, I take that back. After looking at the conferences a little closer, the Big Ten could actually make an argument to be considered the "best" basketball conference this year. As much as that pains me to say. However, if the Big East were to just drop South Florida and Depaul, they...

    That Wacky Big East Tournament

Surely you are referring to the ACC's illustrious history. 2010/11 ACC is probably the 4th best conference after the Big East, Big Ten, and Big 12. The Big East is far and away the best basketball conference, similar to what someone else said about the SEC and football.

That was kind of my assumption.

    Greatest Athlete

They wouldn't, they would still mention soccer players. Soccer players are very athletic, but I don't think they hold a candle to basketball players. Plus, most soccer players are under 6' tall which would put them at a disadvantage in my All Sports competition that I mentioned in an earlier post.

    That Wacky Big East Tournament

I'm not a big fan of it either, but you'd have a hard time convincing me that there were more deserving teams than UConn, Marquette, and 'Nova (in that order) on the bubble.

Best and Worst NCAA Tournament memory (For any team)

Best: The CBS Tourney Talking Heads saying before the MSU v ISU game that this was pretty much for the Nat'l Championship. Also, beating the 2000 UCLA team that we lost to in the OP's worst memory (1997 team). Worst: At the time - MSU no contest. After 10 years, probably Hampton because it...

    Should I switch to DirecTV?

Any reason why you can't look at your viewing habits and the channels you would like to watch then compare the available packages? As far as service goes, I'm not sure there is much of a difference between Dish and DirecTV, so I'm not sure what you are really asking us to help you decide...

    That Wacky Big East Tournament

Not sure if this is a serious question or not...but 15. Every team is required to lose once except for one. # of teams in the conference - 1 = # of tourney games. Of course the above formula doesn't apply in leagues that don't invite all of their teams to the conference tourney, but that's...

    Dish v. Cable

I did the same thing last year. Moved from a cable only apt to a home. I went with Dish (DirecTV) because I like to watch a lot of different sports (gambling related) and they had the best packages. It does get a little pricey, but I enjoy it. The only complaint I have had is the weather...
