You are correct about OSU being slaughtered by LSU. I still think its possible that a 1 loss OSU team ends up playing LSU over a 1 loss Alabama team. It all depends how convincingly OSU wins this weekend. Having said that, if OSU plays LSU for the title after all, I will be rooting for OSU...- clonomaniac

If DMac tries hard enough he could easily get a job at Indiana or Minnesotas of Big Ten. I think Kansas had at least 4 games left to play at the time they came to ISU to compete. I think they still believed they had a shot at a bowl game. After the ISU loss they still had some fire left to take Baylor to OT. Then they totally collapsed. I watched their game at A&M on TV. Man, that...- clonomaniac

The sad part is Gill would probably never see a head coaching career at a big name school in Big 12. Not everyone gets to be Dan McCarney who is clearly still head coaching and I totally see him taking a job somewhere better than UNT someday.- clonomaniac

I don't think CPR is trying to hype him up and being sensitive. I think Gill just needed to grow as a head coach with time. When you hire someone like Gill, you better give the guy a chance to grow. I totally agree. However, Gill might have had bad OC and DC that he could reshuffle and work something out for year 3. I know how ugly he lost some of these games but he put up a HUGE fight at the ISU game in Ames. In fact, we are lucky we won that day.- clonomaniac

Not giving Gill more than two years is just like not willing to give Chizik more than two years at Iowa State. I know the DB left after a couple of years on his own but I believe we gave him an extension or something so he would stay at the time. Kansas and Iowa State are two very similar...- clonomaniac
