Pretty sure that line about getting a job was code for OFFER ME A JOB. Not, I'm going to go out a search for a job.

    Dodge Calibur

I'm not personally looking for anything, just curious. I did check out the Elements when they first came out and really like what they had to offer. The look of them has even kind of grown on me.

    Dodge Calibur

I'm a big fan of Hondas... but that aside, does anyone has any experience with the Scion xB - the box looking SUV? Starts at around $15k and looks like they have a TON of space. Plus Toyota makes it so can it be that bad?

    John & Kate Plus 8

umm Jon most definitely does not have money. He has bounced from job to job and when the show began, he was unemployed and not by choice.

    Car options

I'd go for the Honda. I currently drive a newer Civic and have basically only driven Honda's my whole life. And no matter what the specs say, I consistently get 35-38 MPG with my Civic. In 3 years, I've only paid for oil changes. I'm not sold on the look of the Fit, but I'm sure it's a great...

    Wedding Reception Ideas?

I'd suggest golf courses. Tournament Club of Iowa is beautiful and reasonable. Botanical Garden, Des Moines Art Center, you can even have receptions at the Blank Park Zoo. A great place would be the new Alumni Center at ISU.

    Wedding Reception Ideas?

Jester Park Lodge now requires you to use Christiani's catering. I checked into it before our wedding and it was just too much nickel and diming. And it's still true about hiring a police officer. Depending on how large the party is, you may have to rent 2.

    Camera question

Thanks, but I just looked at it and it says you must bring a 35mm SLR. not going to work for me... :(

    Camera question

and where do you suggest classes around here? I have a Canon SX10. I think it's considered semi-SLR. I use a lot of manual functions, but you can still go into point/shoot mode if you'd like. It really takes great pics but because it isn't quite SLR, I'm not sure what type of photography...

    Tipping

Not many 18 year olds know much about tipping so I would not worry about what that person thought. and yes, that's a little low for a large group.

    Cornhole/Bean Bag Toss Games

I would not recommend doing this. The bags need to be made out of duck canvas. The logo fabric you will find will break down so quickly. I contacted someone on ebay about embroidering the logo onto bags. They would do it, but it'd cost around 50 bucks or so. I opted for plain bags instead.

    Cornhole/Bean Bag Toss Games

just finished adding the logo to our boards. We got bags off of ebay. Found someone that was selling a brick red color and yellow gold. They were perfect.

    Awards

I don't know about everyone needing an award. Sometimes even a 5th grader can tell when you're reaching. I would suggest not using things like "bookworm" or "quiet as a mouse." These things can have negative connotations and can really affect a kid. Best reader would be a better choice...

    Job Hunting

Another tip for applying for jobs... When I first graduated from college, I had the cookie cutter cover letter that I basically copy/pasted for every employer. Obviously changing a couple things, but on a whole, it was very basic. I later read up a lot on making a good cover letter and WOW...
