Best Thin Crust Pizza In Central Iowa?

When we lived in Ames we liked Black Market Pizza's thin crust. We now live in WDM and our thin crust pizza's rankings are: Bambino's - WDM Michael's - Beaverdale Noah's Ark - DM Bordenaro's - DM Scornovacca's - DM (the South location) Tavern - Valley Junction location Angelo's - WDM

NCAA Considering Changes to Graduate Transfer Eligibility

I have read some articles calling this a "loophole" that some schools are taking advantage of to gain transfers without sitting out a year. What I haven't read is a clear explanation how this so called "loophole" harms the graduate student or the university that the graduate student is...

NCAA Considering Changes to Graduate Transfer Eligibility

This reminds me of the news story around 10 years ago about law enforcement up around Okoboji getting PO'ed because the Okoboji bars were hiring buses to shuttle customers home after the bars closed to avoid late night police road blocks. When reading about the police being angry about the...

    ISU Athletics tweet

I agree. I certainly could have done without the tweet. The blog makes a point, but it doesn't put ISU football in a better light even for the years we have made a bowl game.

    ISU Athletics tweet

Maybe some of you should read Malchow's actual blog (link is in the tweet) instead of freaking out over the tweet itself.

    ISU Athletics tweet

I agree that I wasn't a big fan of the tweet... then I read Malchow's blog post that was noted in the tweet and it put his comment in perspective: http://2minuteto.wordpress.com/2013/12/20/two-dozen-schools-will-play-january-bowl-games-its-not-the-same-achievement-as-it-once-was/

    Quizno's in Ankeny and Ames

I was in the WDM Quiznos over the weekend and heard some of the local store closings being discussed by employees. The employee said that the ones that closed weren't making any money. Not sure if the WDM on Mills Civic is going to remain open or not.

    Basketball in Des Moines?

Valley Community Center Events Calendar looks like they have adult basketball open gyms on Mondays and Fridays. I have never been there but it is in my neighborhood.

    Favorite for OC job

I like Coach K's intensity and I like how much experience he has. I think if Coach K is the new OC it gives us a chance to upgrade our recruiting. I am not sure how strong Messingham, Pope and Bleil are/were on the recruiting trail. They are all good guys, but I feel like having young...

Possible candidates for ISU's open OC position...

Not sure about this... and it might be a valid question. Even if this is the case that IWCC players are way more talented, how did they manage to get some of the most talented JUCO players in the country 5 years after starting the program? Maybe the guy is a heck of a recruiter?

    Bob Stitt for OC

It is a well respected engineering school of around 5,000 students. I went to a very similar school in Rolla, MO (formerly called Missouri School of Mines). I know from experience it is very difficult to have good football teams at these small engineering schools. We used to get our heads...

    Bob Stitt for OC

I agree with you completely! I also think that in 3rd or 4th and short situations having the entire offense know they are running a quick QB sneak play without giving the defense time to set up would be refreshing. NE Patriots do this with Brady sometimes and the speed of it usually works if...

If we are going to continue to see the read option

I agree that our play calling hasn't kept defenses honest. When our receivers have had trouble getting separation, it hasn't seemed like we have called plays that allow our receivers to brush off their defender. Having your slot receiver run a sharp 10 & out while your split receiver runs a...

Mika injury update and yellow journalism

Mika's eye injury I am sure was painful and also scary as hell. I am not knocking him there at all. That being said, it seems like many basketball players have caught a case of "soccer-itis". The flopping around and showmanship for even minor bumps and bruises gets irritating. I know guys...

VOIP phone services for small business

I am wondering if anyone on CF has any experience with switching from traditional phone service with an internal PBX in a small business to a cloud based VOIP service like RingCentral, XBlue or Vocalocity? I have experience in the past with Mediacom's phone service, Vonage and Skype at home...
