    Yeah, we probably don't have the firepower yet to beat the top teams in the conference but the solid defense we are moving toward will allow us opportunities to beat many of the others. The basics now appear to be instilled...I think the team can now start to to tweak some things and change...

    The atmosphere tonight!!!

    I thought Coach Mac really set the tone with the way he got after the zebra on the first foul called on Jiri. He really let him have it. You could really tell that he was jacked up for the game and wanted the crowd active.

    Defense

    Let's talk some defense. I thought the team did a great job changing their MM looks throughout the game. The perimeter guys took good angles and the team really finished the possessions with solid rebounding. I like the way this group has improved on the defensive end.

    Re: Rashon Clark I seem to remember that Rashon got his pine time when he missed the break-away dunk and Coach chewed him as he came off the court. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't remember seeing him much after that.

    The ability to get several stops in a row was the difference. This team has come a long way and hopefully can still keep improving.

    Wow!! Crazy comeback...great defensive plays. They played SO hard and somehow, didn't quit when things were not going well. Wednesday in Ames should be fun. Go Clones.

    Do we cover the 24 point spread?

    Experienced guards that don't value the ball are annoying. The bigs are often only as good as the perimeter players and their ability / inability to enter it to the post. I thought we showed good improvement in our last game and will not be surprised if we play our best game of the year tonight.

    How many points is a blowout?

    It depends on how and when the 20 is scored. If a team is down 10 with a couple of minutes to go and starts to foul, the lead can quickly escalate, especially if the team that is down starts to look for the 3-ball. I think 20 is a good place to start but won't always say that is an automatic...

    We just can't grab some of those loose balls...probably a strength issue and some lack of anticipation due to inexperience. I am not giving up on this year! Watch out in years to come.

    Yes...but maybe it was a product of Alford's motion offensive. With GMac's sets, it would be easier to keep him on the block. He will be a nice addition.

    To be a "special NBA player", I guess I expect more than what I thought Fizer would ever be able to give. I sure wish we had him on Cyclone roster this year!!!

    I really like the young guys too but there are too many variables in planning for the future. I say play the guys that give you the best chance of winning TODAY...let the future take care of itself.
