    Dinner With Schmucks

Went last night and thought this was a very good movie. Funny with a little bit of a Forrest Gump element to it. The big question is...who are the schmucks at the dinner?

    MLB Attendance

Is it me or is attendance in MLB down this year? I don't have any stats but it sure looks that way from viewing the highlights day in and day out and seeing all of the empty seats at the vast majority of ballparks. Does anyone have the stats?

    Osborne?

Man, some of you have an enormous amount of spite and jealousy pent up in your bodies. Devaney was a great coach...a program builder. He did a great job at Wyoming when he was there and then immediately made NU into a FB power after they had less than a handful of winning seasons in the two...

    Sweet tea...

I said they were based in the gulf south...Mississippi to be precise if my recollection serves. I never said they did not have locations outside of the gulf south. Make no mistake, the gulf south knows about sweet tea and how to make it right.

    Sweet tea...

The sweet tea at McAlister's Deli is far better than Jason's. McAlister's is a gulf south based chain in the heart of sweet tea country.

    Mad Men Premier

I see your point...they did make a big issue about not having a second floor and not having a conference room table. Nonetheless, they are not operating out of a hotel room any longer and Don's Glo-Coat ad campaign has clearly made a big splash with industry rags wanting to interview him. The...

    Mad Men Premier

Anyone else watch? Looks like they skipped ahead about a year and SCDP appears to be doing relatively well. I didn't get to see enough Betty and a little too much of Don...looks like he has some kinky fetishes in the bedroom.

    Cyclone baseball

The same thing they bring in today...red ink! These programs were, are, and always will be revenue drags at every school. The reality is that FB, and to a lesser extent, MBB bring in all the revenues that allow all of these other non-revenue sports to exist...and we have TV to thank for...

    100% Hypothetical-Harrison Barnes

Re: Could Hoiberg have landed H. Barnes? This statement is totally off base. The Chizik years were an 'incomplete' on the report card. While the McDermott years were an absolute 'F' on the report card. I think Chizik was a very good recruiter and he definitely upgraded the talent coming...

    100% Hypothetical-Harrison Barnes

Re: Could Hoiberg have landed H. Barnes? First of all, this team being discussed was NEVER ranked #1. Secondly, it is great making a Sweet 16 but this team lost that game to UCLA in San Antonio...I was there and witnessed it. Lastly, that team was well coached and was gritty...but they...

    Jordan vs. Bryant vs. James

Yeah...I agree...what a comical comment to call Shaq a "role player". He might be that at this point in his career but there was a time he was the most dominant player in the league. In fact, he was so dominant that the only way you could really stop him was using the "hack-a-Shaq" technique...

    Jordan vs. Bryant vs. James

Both excellent points that I agree with. The NBA was very strong in the 80s...lots of top talent. However, it dropped off dramatically in the 90s. I think the NBA today is much stronger overall than in the 90s...in large part due to the tremendous influx of very good foreign players.

    Jordan vs. Bryant vs. James

These are all three fantastic players. I generally agree with you assessment with two exceptions: + Lebron is by far the best distributor/passer of these three + Best all around will always be debatable but you really have to see Kobe and Lebron finish their careers before you make a decision...

    Jordan vs. Bryant vs. James

Only at the beginning of his career when he couldn't win in Chicago. Frankly, the NBA of the 90s was not nearly as strong as today's NBA in my opinion.

And that is your opinion because you never saw Oscar Robertson play.

Jimmy Johnson to be on "Survivor"

Jimmy grew up poor in Port Arthur, TX and he is going to do whatever he can to make money...the stock trading system, Extenze, etc. Or maybe he just wants to go on Survivor to shed a few pounds.

Best "Dunker" Ever at Iowa State

In the 76-72 game in Hilton? I actually recall a couple of back door alley oops to Ronnie at the end of that game but I don't believe both were dunks. Those both came from a high post set that Johnny loved to run as I recall.

Best "Dunker" Ever at Iowa State

Grayer was a tremendous college BB player...absolutely tremendous. Many also forget he was on the last amateur Olympic team in 1988. Have we had any other BB player ever make the Olympic team?

Best "Dunker" Ever at Iowa State

Good to see some older school guys get some love...Norman Brown could elevate. A couple of guys that were good dunkers I have not seen mentioned were Mal Warrick and Robert Estes.
