You mentioned it in the previous post with clothes choice - I'm in the same boat, never know what to wear once the temps start bouncing, but I feel like as long as I am in the sun I am good lol

You get one restaurant that’s closed in Ames to come back…

all the time, around '00 and '01 I knew 2 sisters that were shot girls and they hooked me up for my shot girl halloween costume that year.

CyTown Announcement - Monday 9/19 (Links in OP)

This here - Pompeii is the only 1 I will grab unless back home in Decorah. Once they went hazy on every IPA - they all started tasting the same.

The hill that CW will die on?

Ha you must live in Dutch country. My roommates and I would fight about it all the time - they were from near Orange City. I grew up with sloppy joes - hamburger with ketchup, mustard, onions, salt/peper and brown sugar. My wife's family always just added a can of gumbo soup and ketchup. I now...

    Campustown Redevelopment

I doubt he did - he's a shy guy and said he was always nervous and petrified that one of the ladies would yell at him for staring.

    Campustown Redevelopment

Wow - I would have thought that they would have the new building up by now, we surveyed the old previous building in the fall of 2018. Probably the best week of my surveyor's life up to that point!

What a kick in the shorts!! I have a thing about not paying a lot of money for a t-shirt that I can do anytime at my pace. Most of them are lottery now and pulling in all these ex-pro riders so I would like to check it out and watch. HS will be racing Leadville in 2 weeks for their first...

I have built-in rides now with the HS MTB season kicking off now for my kids. Took our group up to Cameron Pass last Saturday and rode up to Thunder Pass which borders RMNP. Kids got a kick out of the dad joke about peeing on one side vs the other (Atlantic vs Pacific watersheds) and the views...

Fall highlight for me will be coaching my daughter and having a son racing this year in the CO HS race league. Practice started this week and now have a good reason have big ride days. This weekend we are going up to American Lakes which should be pretty good for views and flowers.

I mountain bike with a few guys that cross train with a few road group rides during the week and its crazy that I see they are averaging 24+ on most rides (mostly flat back roads)

I get it and agree. But the bike trails have plenty of their own dangers like runners/walkers with headphones in that cannot hear, families with big strollers, people who turn into you when you say "on your left" and usually a speed limit of 15 MPH. I only have to ride a small section now to...

When living in IA and started riding - I quickly started figured out the trails get boring after awhile (prior to all the connections in the DSM area) and just used the trails to get me to less busy roads. I hate riding sidewalks - even trail designated ones since you still have the drops for...

I was just trying to get a quick sunday ride in yesterday and ended up on a gravel race course (Foco Fondo) for the last bit, and ended up chatting with a guy living in Ames putting together bikes, but I thought he said 3T bikes.

This is where I am on bikes too, I am gravitating towards the older stuff (not too old). I have a newish carbon CX/gravel bike but ride my older SS All-City Nature boy most of the time. Mountain biking I split between a carbon full squish and a 2011 Niner SIR9 rigid SS.

    Cell service for Senior

My eldest broke his 3rd screen so my wife checked into a flip phone and Verizon still has them to purchase for $30 or so without a new plan.

What do you miss/appreciate about Iowa?

I agree with the aspens but with the right view, they are pretty righteous.

This too LOL - at one point I was riding a Trek Cross Rip (loved this bike) towing a 1st grader on a tag-a-long towing the trailer with the toddler. Its def a workout if that's what you are looking for too.
