Anyone ever ridden the Three Rivers trail between Rolfe and Eagle Grove? I love a good crushed limestone trail like Heritage or Wabash when it's scenic.

There's so many styles/sizes available. I'd suggest hitting up Amazon and ordering 3 - 4 and then just keep the one that works. Since I have multiple bikes my saddle bags only carry a spare tube for that bike and tire levers. Everything else is in my hip bag. I do agree with your approach, I...

Lol, nope, I survived. I did some Ragbrai's way back in the early 2000s but couldn't remember if I ever did 100. I for whatever reason remember a 90 something mile day but never a 100. I've done some long mtn bike days but a 100 mile road bike ride just hits different.

Has anyone purchased a new vehicle lately, the prices are off the wall.

To the OP, nope, between the stupid prices and interest rates I'm just going to hang on to what I have. Definitely the time to be thinking and understanding the difference between "want and need". I want a newer car but I don't need one.

Casey's in Ankeny and Bondurant were a must hit. That and the little ice cream shop in downtown Ankeny on the way back thru for that last bit of energy.

First time ride on the Heart of Iowa trail today in central Iowa. Pretty cool rail trail with a mixture of surfaces. Huxley to Cambridge is buttery smooth concrete and then it turns to crushed limestone after that. Stopped at Collins and turned around, wife didn't want to ride the gravel road...

Not officially but that that's the rumor at WF. FWIW....right before COVID the new CIO announced a location strategy. Basically if you didn't live within a certain distance of a main office hub you had one year to relocated or be laid off. That policy was obviously nuked by the COVID pandemic...

    Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

Add AZ, sit tight and wait for other heavy weight football programs to become available. Football is King and we have to make sure we have a chance in the playoffs, especially when the big10 and sec will find a way to make it harder for anyone outside those two confs to get in.

    Housing market

Is that just a terminology play? I thought back in the late 90s/early 2000s you had to list "above grade" sq footage and basements didn't really count. My house is 2200 sq ft above grade and 1000 below. So yeah I'd much rather put "3200" in my listing.

Just rode up there last weekend. Really impressed with that trail system. Only section we didn't get in was the south trail to Preston. Also didn't get any further east of Rushford. Definitely my reason to go back.

    How bad is Allegiant?

I will take 2.5 hours in a somewhat barely functional chair over flying thru Chicago, Atlanta, St Louis, etc and spending the entire damn day getting to your destination. Have flown numerous times to FL and Vegas, the flights are fine. I won't complain as opposed to paying another $200 for a...

    How bad is Allegiant?

I've flown a lot and that seems to be standard fair on any airline if you're going during peak vacation season. If you're flying out of Vegas everyone pregamed too hard regardless of the airline they are flying home on.

And if you want another good spot go up north to Cuyuna. Not quite as many miles of trails but its another "park your car for the week and just ride from your rental house" destination. A little bit lower key town but has good bars/restaurants. Really caters to the mtb tourists. (translation...

That kinda confirms what I know. Been there a few times and it's great for boating and dock life but that's it. Wife and I are trying to find an empty nester home w Yes, that Ozarks meaning Osage Beach area. NWA is a mtb mecca. Have enjoyed quite a few trips there.

    No Mow May

There is absolutely no benefit to doing this and it's actually harmful to the pollinators who will return to discover you mowed and struggle to find something new. Add some flowers and other stuff to your landscaping and do more good.

Ozarks....any good cycling around there? Everything I've researched says that answer is no. Golf yes, cycling no.
