Need to add McKinstry to that list as well. Just double clutched out of an inning ending double play that resulted in 4 runs and the lead. Not a big sample here but his OPS is. 500 or less Wisdom seems to be getting his 1B experience/tryout and would be the most palatable of those options

    Early single game tickets help

Speaking of single game tickets, the availability seemed much greater this year. Guessing season ticket sales are down. Back to selling mini-packs too.

    Top Lyricists of all time

Neil Peart wrote nearly all the Rush lyrics. Maybe not poetic, but certainly no sex. drugs and rock n roll lyrics. Most have an underlying theme or storyline.

    In Memoriam: Ames Business/Restaurants

Cave Inn was open at least through the 89/90 school year. And this thread can never die.

I think we're safe from Mills being in the rotation long-term. He's indeed a long arm in the bullpen and spot starter, who unfortunately has been called upon in that latter role due to the Miley and Smyly injuries. He's starting because they really don't have anyone else with the Caleb Kilian...

The roster decision will be very interesting when they activate Suzuki. What the heck do they do with Heyward. He doesn't even seem to be part of the team anymore. You can almost see the weight on his shoulders with every AB.

Cubs get bases loaded no outs against the Cards. Down five. After 1 out, Ortega tries to tag up on a short fly to right. Gets thrown out. End of inning. Don't score They certainly have talent issues all over, but they are not fundementaly sound either. Too many missed cutoff men, on purpose or...

    Open Spring Practices

Ya, the Ames High one is rather curious vs just having an open JTS practice. Same with Gilbert.

    RIP Grobber

Ya, he was a time machine of local radio in the 70s and 80s. Would read the weather forecast and current temperatures. Had no problem carrying on for 5 hours with no guests.

    RIP Grobber

If you have any northern Illinois or Chicago roots, longtime Score 670 overnight host Les Grobstein passed away Sunday. He was an odd duck, but nobody knew more about Chicago sports history. Listening varied from you had to turn it off, to you couldn't get enough. Certainly not because of...

    JStanz article

Yup. Noticed this in the recent SI article on Gonzaga attributed to Mark Few. Sound familiar? "Concentrate on culture. Focus on how the players fit together" Probably not on the verge of fighting in the middle of the game like two years ago.

Williams/Blum Pod: What the Big 12's scheduling decision means for ISU

Question may be moot now with the MWC news, but why is an 8+ hour bus ride from Muncie better than a couple hour flight from Vegas?

    Hilton Renovations still on?

As much as I'd like to see this stuff done, I'd wait and see how everything falls out after COVID-19 settles down. I've read some scary stuff about how this could affect athletics budgets in the future.

    Hilton Renovations still on?

I haven't heard much about the Hilton renovations lately. Last I heard was that it was going up in the April Board of Regents meeting for final approval. I really hope this gets approved and is desperately needed. I went to several Creighton games this year, and while the CHI Health Center is...

This is why Prohm must go........

Neither is going to happen. He's already signed through 24-25, five more seasons. He wouldn't be getting another extension even if he had a good season. His buyout is half what's left on those five years too so he's going to be here next season like it or not.
