NBC Sports Guy: Hey, are those Cyclones really any good?

Every game is a challenge to be sure. This team won't dwell on the last success and let it detract from the next game. One game at a time... Maybe the team needs some incentive to go to OU and get the win? Make him eat his words. Go State!

    Johnny

I saw Johnny coach against some great coaches and great teams in the early 90's at Hilton. Roy Williams, Billy Tubbs, Norm Stewart. His teams managed to beat some great teams. Being down there in the band with the place rockin' left my ears ringing for hours after a game. It didn't really...

The Nature Boy and the 49ers!

They're playing Carolina this week, not Seattle, right? :jimlad:

Mangino Offense vs. Cyclone Offense this past year?

I hope this "new" offense means more TD and less 3 and out. Beyond that, I'm with CPR in that I don't care as long as we score and often.

    *** OFFICIAL ISU-IOWA POSTGAME THREAD ***

Good to see the team playing to win games down the stretch this year. I've even had Husker fans and Creighton fans tell me ISU is fun to watch play basketball. I never thought I'd hear that here in Omaha. Great game! Go State!

What excuse will EIU come up with?

C'mon man...The Hawks could have chocked in addition to having choked...it is possible...they are the Hawks after all.

does hilton now have a sixth man

I vote no. Officials and their call are little or no part of the magic. Next question...

    Props to the crowd

I've been courtside in pep band for close games like this. He's right, it's loud. I don't know if it's as loud as Seattle Seahawks stadium, but still great! Good to know Hilton magic still lives on!

    Why we believe in Magic

My 8-year old would have watched if I'd let her, but 8:45 start time was too late. Someday I hope to introduce her to Hilton Magic in person. I was there in the pep band in the 90's when Fred started his playing career and Johnny Orr was leading the team. It's good to know that the magic...

Hoiberg is the best coach in the sport

Don't know if he's the best coach, but he's pretty darn good! Keep it rollin', Clones! Go State!

What excuse will EIU come up with?

I don't listen to EIU sports talk, so I would neither know or care what excuses they have. We won. End of story.

    Last possession, up 3 again

    Who cares? We won!

    Mess fired! And Pope

Sorry to see coaches removed, but at least it was decisive and quick and not drug out for days. I hope these guys have good luck getting other positions. I think both are good guys, but things just didn't go as planned this year.

Possible candidates for ISU's open OC position...

With the issues we've had on o-line, QB better be able to run. The best offenses in the conference have a QB that that is at least somewhat mobile.

    New OC

Anyone know if either of the two internal candidates Chris mentions in his posting about the change at OC had any part in the play calling the last two games? That might shed some light if there will be any internal promotions or not. It almost seemed like a different guy was calling the shots...

    Seventh Place

Is this thread kind of like Mr. Irrelevant on NFL Draft Day?

    Is it Monday yet?

Monday is a bit closer, but still talking football. Love my Cyclone Basketball, but it's football season, man. Rivalry games everywhere you look. Not going to get over football until the last of this season's Superbowl confetti blows out to sea. Cyclones win today, too! Go State!

    Jeremiah George ??

I like JG, but not sure he's NFL quality like Knott and Klein. I want him to go out and prove me wrong. Go JG!

    Mizzu vs A&M

Funny thing is, if Mizzou were to go to the BCS title game, would their fans travel?
