    Maybe, but that is what I have seen, and that's how opinions are formed, experiences. It might have to do with growing up in a college town too, since most college Towns (in Iowa at least) have notoriously dickish cops (from what I've experienced and heard).

    Out of my sample size, most do this. My dad is from a small town, when I told him stories of the conduct police use he didn't believe me, cause its bad. I always thought it was common knowledge police would do anything they could to walk all over your rights. Ask any lawyer

    Its not only small town cops. Most cops will walk all over your rights to try and catch you doing something. They trick you out of your rights. "just let us search your car, you don't have anything to hide right? So just let us search your car."

    I blame and despise both equally. Its not only that they bust us, its the conduct they use. Get caught with weed, get treated like a dangerous meth dealer. Get caught with beer underage, get treated like a career criminal. That isn't to say that's the case all the time, but it happens enough...

    can you link the research to this? Germany has virtually no speed limits on the A****ahn, yet it is one of the safest roadways in the world. The government can try and force people to be responsible or people can be responsible. I would wager that 50% of those arrested for a dui were really not...

    This. Idk if the people that are upset about the hire just think we have that much of a powerhouse program, or if they are just plain stupid. I think this is the best hire we could have made, and he was obviously hoibergs first choice, since the hire happened so quickly

    I thought that ice nine was kind of an analogy to religion or maybe to bad ideologies. The way it can spread, and kill free thinking. I tend to look at religion in a marxist point of view though.

    That's what I thought, but then I realized he didn't have to announce where he is transferring to, and it would make sense for him to make th announcement sooner rather than later. Maybe bubu going off scholly is still an option..
