There are no guarantees, but it's certainly evidence. Past performance is predictive of future success, just not 100%. Recruiting has been great - we'll have the #5 QB in the '08 class competing with the #15 in the '09 signing class (not to mention the Springdale Arkansas Factory QB, Glaser)... -

Maybe, but the Tigers have beaten them 93-23 the last two years. NU might be better in '09, but I don't think they'll ever be "back" as a consistent powerhouse. And, they'll be breaking in a new QB next year too. -

I wasn't kidding - just ignorant. I didn't know McCartney was still recruiting NFL talent at the end. I can only really obsess about one team. FYI - Iowa State currently has more NFL players than TT, KU, MU, and Baylor. MU and Baylor have 6 - only Duke has fewer among BCS conference teams... -

Pinkel went 8-5 in his third year as Tiger coach. That said, I believe Chizik's going to start fielding a competitive team in the next few years. I am surprised the defense isn't better as, if I recall, it showed some real progress as last year went on. Last year ISU was 7th in total... -

I hadn't thought of that - nice. I was reading a recap of the 2000 MU/ISU game and it referred to Mizzou's offense as a "spread." Way back in 2000. That offense was pretty darn stoppable. -
