    #2 ISU at #6 Minnesota - Wrestling - 2 pm

As with most of our tough matchups, its seems to come down to some common weight classes, 125, 133, 141, 165. If one or all of these weight classes win against Iowa the last couple of years, we win the duals, Midlands, probably the National duals as well. Its hard not to put all of the...

*Offical ISU vs Bradley Game Thread*

ISU up by 25 at half. Let's see how their focus is for the 2nd half. GMAC should have these guys coming out the first 5 minutes of the 2nd half as if they were behind by 5. Come on and step on the throat!

    Home and away

Thanks for the info. Didn't realize they met that may times that year. I guess if ISU took care of business last year they could have met in the Nat. duals final. Looking at their second semester schedule it looks pretty tight. Only non-conference match is with Okie state. As a wrestling...

    Home and away

When was the last time ISU and IA were scheduled for home and away during the same season? Anyone know why it was stopped and why it would not be a good reason to start it up again? Last time I checked travel costs were an issue in sports (especially wrestling), and I think OSU and OU still...

    Jackson and recruiting

Sure would like hear more about what coach Jackson has been doing with recruiting. Any additional talk or rumblings about recruiting this year? Transfers?

    Taylor

Pretty much. Slim to none chance, but not impossible especially if seeking an Ag degree (from what I've read). I'd like to think KJ and the staff hasn't given up yet.

    Taylor

Just wondering if anyone new of any examples of an athlete in any sport, decommiting due to a coaching change, and then recommitting thereafter.

just signed up and hope others follow this spring and summer

    Jackson Press Conference

I like how he referenced some of the media basically as Hawkeye fans. I like his style so far. It may be straight forward and unedited, but I think that is what ISU needs. Fire, passion, "all in" commitment, olympic training site, and calling out ISU fans to get fully on board- Love the hire.

Do you think Oklahoma is just waiting for ISU, ASU and Illinois to fill their coaching slots before they fire Spates? At that point they will offer the position to Brands?

    Joe Heskett

Does everyone see Heskett as long term at ISU? If the possibility of an AD job or HC job at Ohio State became available, wouldn't he pounce on that as his ultimate job? ISU certainly cannot compete financially with that institution.

    Kevin Jackson

Is this just part of JP's pathology. He better get this hire right without any silly mind games.

    World Team Trials

admittedly not a very good post, but at this point is it only Cody who will be present the the trials, or would Casey be there as well? (or the potential new coaching staff?)

    World Team Trials

Do you think we'll see Cael there? Will he be able to be in the corner with Varner, Gallick, Reader? May not be proper now that he is with PSU.

    ISU contacted Brands

I guess now that Brands won't step up, Gable will have to accept the job to save ISU:jimlad:; unless he has another recommendation for Pollard.

    ISU contacted Brands

I was just thinking as well that he is waiting for the Oklahoma job to open up. I think that and Okie state would be the only jobs in his mind worth going after in order to leave Iowa. Also the close rivalry of ISU/UI maybe too much to handle.

    The story I saw today.

My gut feeling of late is a major reason for leaving was because of his Mormon faith. Certainly faith and family is very important to Cael, and maybe there just wasn't enough of a Mormon presence in Ames. That is ok, but not sure if he would want to bring that up in the public.

    New head coaching candidates?

correct. Harold Nichols and Johnny Orr did not have previous ISU ties, but they were key to building some tradition at their repective sports at ISU.
