Here comes the doomsday thread, sorry

My original argument was against you saying short term profit trumps everything because that’s not how these schools operate. You were making this point comparing them to business which I disagreed with because their fundamental goal isn’t to make money. If it was they wouldn’t be carrying 90%...

They really aren’t though. These institutions have been around for longer than 99.9% of all business that exist in the US today. They aren’t short sighted and are always looking towards the future. So again, not focused on short term profit because they have no investors, shareholders, or any...

Yep picking a PT is a lot like picking a personal trainer or therapist, they aren’t all great and you need to find the one that you click with best. Glad you found someone that works for ya

I’ve had 4 different major injuries come in this week alone from those quacks, I’m tired of speaking politely about a psudeoscience field that was created by a charlatan to make money.

Go see ortho, or a physical therapist. If you go to ortho first you can almost always get a script for PT so it can be covered by insurance or at least partially.

Go to a real doctor please. The chiropractor isn’t doing anything, it’s a made up specialty that shouldn’t exist and was legit created by a grifter.

If you go with that revenue sharing model you could be correct but then we get into employee territory that gets very messy. Also would depend largely on how that revenue is calculated and distributed considering that very revenue is what props up all the other sports. Plus you get into title 9...

Well the best best coaches were already being taken by those teams, this isn’t anything new despite the increase in media rights deals. If schools can start paying players all college sports will become extinct very quickly because that would make them employees and that is chaos on another level.

Agree on that one. Especially for assistants. However in what way does that change anything from how it has been? All the new money does is start saying the quiet and obvious part out loud.

Hahaha no it’s not, and again these are institutions of higher learning not for profit businesses. Comparing them to mega churches is pure emotions talking. Again your reading comprehension is lacking because I didn’t say anything about research or academic prestige or anything of the sorts...

Texas has had more money than anyone for decades and it hasn’t don’t much for them. Vanderbilt and Indiana have had more money for the big 12 for decades as well and they haven’t done anything with it. The contract is great because it secures a financial future for years to come with a...

Yeah they rejected two awesome schools because it’s about athletic membership? Your comment was entirely about short term profit which is what I was responding to with that statement. Also those two schools are still in the P4. If they would have cared enough to have responsible Pac12...

I said that in direct response to your very post “You cannot trust people to want something to be profitable in 20 or 50 years, you can expect people to want to maximize their payday now. This is almost a universal constant in the business world.” And I accurately pointed out that they aren’t...

I don’t know anything about the inner workings of the SEC but it takes two to tango. OUT really didn’t want to be in the Big12 and even after those moves the Big12 is intact with a great media deal.

Man I respect you but you’re letting emotions affect your reading comprehension. I never said anything about this committee being about academics. Again those schools got relegated to another current P4 conference so not even relegation. Considering how much of disaster the Pac leadership was...

The ACC isn’t the P3, the big 12 is, I specifically said that so not sure where the confusion came from. The ACC is one successful lawsuit from dissolving. The Big12 on the other hand has a solid media deal and a group of teams that are currently in lockstep.

Good thing these are institutions of higher learning not businesses. The money made off athletics is not even comparable to the rest of most of these universities

Here comes the doomsday thread, sorry

If you cut out the other conferences ratings will take a major hit in a future where live sports ratings are already expected to naturally go down. Sure there is a possibility but trying to project 20 years out is a fools errand. Hell by then the southern schools could be under water or we have...
