MLB: ***Official 2016 WORLD SERIES CHAMPION Chicago Cubs Season Thread***

It's amazing... every single one of those walk off wins came at home. You'd think they could get at least one walk-off win on the road over that stretch. o_O

SNAP REACTIONS: Thoughts on ISU's rout of San Jose State

I hate to complain after a win but Colin Downing is one of our best players, so this staff needs to find a way to get him involved earlier in the game... He didn't even get a touch until the 3rd quarter. I don't know, maybe it was just part of SJSU's game plan to try to shut him down, but good...

    Ankeny Area Mechanic

Tim's Amoco at Ankeny Blvd. and 1st St. has always been good and trustworthy for me. They've never try to sell me on repairs I don't need and a few times they have talked me out of repairs that I thought were needed but weren't.

Kansas’ Cheick Diallo enters NBA Draft after averaging 7.5 minutes a game

Your assessment of the NBA Draft is spot on and for many of the above reasons the vast majority of the NBA is unwatchable- Too many players with "youth and potential" that are not ready to play consistent basketball at the professional level.

Yes, it looks like at that point you would have to pay taxes on the gains or you can use the money for education expenses for any qualifying family member.

    .

I just double checked on that now and you are correct. If you just wanted to withdraw the money you would have to pay the income tax. Otherwise, you could hold the account for future education expenses or use it for a qualifying family members expenses tax-free.

You can choose from their investment portfolio of funds based on risk assessment (agressive growht through bonds & money market) and/or have it reconfigure automatically over time on their age-based savings track. Here is Iowa's website: https://www.collegesavingsiowa.com/content/home.html

We have 8 of these accounts (the wife and I each have 1 for each of our 4 kids) all started at the birth of each child. They are great if you want to save money for your child's education as mentioned above. I believe you can take out money penalty free if your child gets a scholarship, as well.
