    HS BB & SB

Let's say 1-2 per team on average. They want to be seen by college coaches and, even more important, they want to work on their craft and get better. What should those kids do?

Can only use dugouts for games. Allowed to extend dugouts towards the outfield for more space. Not supposed to use shared equipment.

Big money? Not at all talked to our HS coach. Without camps and tournaments and concession, this will cost schools (more) money this season.

    HS BB & SB

It’s been interesting watching my daughter. She’s been working on hitting hoping to have a season, but kind of half heartedly. In fact a lot of what she was doing (homework, workouts, ...) seemed... forced. But, when they announced the season It was like a switch, all of the sudden she had a...

Fun times - "I don't get paid to work"

Or they could give teachers more than 2 vacation days per school year and not 'force' them to use sick days as PTO. My wife will only use a sick day if she is really sick, but she has missed of few of our kid's activities because she can't afford to take a vacation day to leave early on a Friday.

Fun times - "I don't get paid to work"

I’m guessing they might just make a big deal of it to get a solution, but didn’t fully like the prescribed solution so live with the pain until they can’t take it any more.

Fun times - "I don't get paid to work"

What about vacation with unlimited sick days? Only limit at my work on sick days is that if you are out for more than three days in a row, you technically need a note from a Dr. although I’ve never seen it requested.

Coronavirus Coronavirus: In-Iowa General Discussion (Not Limited)

Didn't the FDA already approve Hydroxychloroquine for use against Covid-19? Hasn't this already been reported? https://www.fda.gov/media/136537/download

Coronavirus Coronavirus: In-Iowa General Discussion (Not Limited)

Glad to see they finally updated. Changes that I noted: - They finally gave Iowa credit for closing schools (although they claim it only happened on 4Apr - HUGE drop in death estimates. Was almost 1500. Now less than 500 - HUGE drop in other metrics as well. However, prior to the latest...

Coronavirus Coronavirus: In-Iowa General Discussion (Not Limited)

Agreed. Question for you: how many people don't have an extra refrigerator or freezer that they could store 2+ weeks worth of food? i know we stocked up a couple weeks ago and go some dirty looks in a suburban Fareway for having a very full grocery cart. I've heard similar from other friends...

Coronavirus Coronavirus: In-Iowa General Discussion (Not Limited)

Question: What projections or projections sites do you trust? I've been watching IHME,LINK, but have a few reservations about their logic and they haven't kept it as up to date as they said they would. Are there other sites that have good projections as to quantities of beds...

I am guessing those that are trolling about SIP aren't actually in the WFH group.

Coronavirus Coronavirus: In-Iowa General Discussion (Not Limited)

My employer has been great. - allowed us to check out monitors, docking stations and keyboards - kicked out office employees and have to have approval to get back in - allowing wage employees to stay home if at risk or sick - shutdown for a few days when a positive was found Only issue is that...

Coronavirus Coronavirus: In-Iowa General Discussion (Not Limited)

To be fair, she said she had not seen their letter yet. That might make a difference if/when they have a conversation with her about it.

Coronavirus Coronavirus: In-Iowa General Discussion (Not Limited)

I wish there was more of an equation to define when to completely shut it down. But, I doubt that he knows how many available ventilators and beds we have in the state versus current numbers in hospitals. I want to think he has our best interest in mind, but the more he gains traction the...

Sounded like the Medical Board deal was done over social media and they didn't call her to discuss.

Coronavirus Coronavirus: In-Iowa General Discussion (Not Limited)

Not what she said. She said he doesn't know the situation in Iowa: the steps that we have taken, the current hospitalization rate, etc.
