You think so? You'd take a crappy boss if the pay was great? I'm not so sure about that. As the saying goes - most people don't leave a job, they leave a manager.

So, you outbid the competition to get someone new - then your competition offers more and then you lose some people - then you offer more to get some back - then they offer more - then what? At some point somewhere in the job market someone will have to figure out how to get the work done with...

    Isheem Young enters transfer portal

Is there another metric that could be used? I'm not against dropping those, but what other way would you use to define if someone should be accepted to a specific college or program?

    John Deere strike imminent?

The government keeps flirting with the idea that if you inherit something like this, you have pay taxes on the capital gains when you get the inheritance. So he might be liable for taxes on $8300 per acre at that point. They keep backing off, but it keeps coming up.

How soon will people start crossing the picket line? For those that voted to approve the proposed contract and don't believe that anything better is coming, what is their motivation to not go to work and stay on the picket line?

Ben and Jerry's is an interesting case study in a company 'trying' to limit CEO salary. The CEO salary was ratio'd to the lowest paid employee. It started at 5:1, then went to 7:1 and then to 17:1 (not counting stock options!) before being sold. They simply had a hard time finding qualified...

    John Deere strike imminent?

There is talk about a new rule that would put the basis at the purchase price rather than the value when inherited. Depending on the details, Curt might be liable for $8300/acre in capital gains when he inherits it.

    John Deere strike imminent?

I thought there was a few thousand of profit sharing they get every year if warranted. But, if not, good idea. And, do the workers want guaranteed pay or variable. Right now, it would appear they want guaranteed pensions... On the downside, part of the question becomes how much? Right now...
