    Best Hidden Gems In Des Moines Area

    Can't believe it took this long for Thai Flavors to be mentioned. Food is amazing and Cafe Fuzion is right next to it. I have often stopped at Thai Flavors for their Panang and then went to Cafe Fuzion for their lettuce wraps! Corner of University and E 14th.

    According to Mid America's website, there's about 5000 customers without power now. I live north of Meredith between 68th & 71st most houses south and east of me have power, North and west, not so much.

    I worked as a land surveyor for a few years, learned very early on to never listen to forecasts, just be prepared for the worst. Plan for bad weather, and it's easier to adjust when it turns out better.

    Tomorrow is the first day of Classes at Grand View University. I hope they cancel. I'd hate to be a student having to walk between classes.

    I grew up watching Johnny Orr Basketball. While I never met him in person, he was the face the Cyclone athletics to me. RIP. Prayers and thoughts to his family and friends.

    Akron wanted to play inside. ISU made them play outside. ISU won. They took Akron out of their comfort zone, I think that is, was, and will be the plan all season. Good scouting, good coaching, good execution (and with one day to game plan)!

    That has been the modus operandi for Hoiberg's teams, but this team just seemed to gel so quickly. If they made a leap forward at the start of conference play, this team would be scary good. I just don't see that happening though. Things I am sure of... Best conference finish since Hoiball...
