    Joe Burrow transferring from tOSU

He was the backup going into fall camp last year. He broke his hand right before the season started or in the first couple weeks (can't remember). Haskins took over the backup job. He didn't win the starting job outright after spring ball. He has already graduated and decided to transfer with...

    Joe Burrow transferring from tOSU

There isn't really a family connection to Iowa State. His father coached at ISU with Walden. He was born in Ames. His brothers went to Ames High. Both attended Nebraska. He has family in Nebraska.

"It's gonna be cold, it's gonna be gray..." (4/18 Weather Thread)

I lived in Iowa growing up and college and I will never live in that state, or the midwest, ever again. The weather just beats me down and it is depressing.

Nebraska looking to have increase Walk-on numbers.

Friend of mine was bragging about Nebraska having a bunch of walk on commits that had scholarship offers from other schools. I didn't bother to look it up to verify. If you are a decent high school football player why would you walk on at Nebraska (or any other school) rather than accept a...

    Investing: Beating the S&P 500

Not really research per se. https://www.forbes.com/sites/investor/2016/07/18/cap-weighted-versus-equal-weighted-which-approach-is-better/#760fa68647c3 Also, vanguard offers other index funds that out perform the s&p 500.

    Investing: Beating the S&P 500

You could beat the index if you invested in an equal weighted portfolio of S&P 500 companies. You miss out on potential gains from more volatile small cap companies in a cap weighted portfolio. When the returns for the S&P 500, or any other index, are displayed they are market cap weighted...

    Investing: Beating the S&P 500

It is high-ish but I don't think I'd call it a bubble. We will probably see a correction this year and unless a war breaks out or something I wouldn't expect a crash. Bonds have been such a ****** investment for years that more money has been going into the equities market inflating prices some.

RECRUITING: Some notes entering the January cycle....

In Joe Burrow's case, and I could be wrong, he was the backup when he broke his throwing hand in fall camp and missed the first 4 or so weeks of the season. When he came back he was third on the depth chart. The hand break may have just sped up him moving down the depth chart.

    Can we talk about Nebraska?...

That is so ******* stupid. **** that ****** school and **** that dump of a state. I cant stand it when someone says college football or basketball is better when team x or y is winning. God i hate nebraska.

New Tax Bill could affect season tickets, donations

I get that. The original post is about being able to deduct from your taxes the donations for ticket purchases, not for donating to charities. I don't think ticket purchases are charities. I also said I haven't been paying too close attention to all the details in the bill.

New Tax Bill could affect season tickets, donations

I donate to goodwill to get clothes I don't wear out of my place and hopefully help someone less fortunate. I also donate to charities to help people. The tax implication doesn't affect my decision to do so.

New Tax Bill could affect season tickets, donations

Why would donations to charities be affected? I haven't been paying too close attention to these things lately but the image in the original post says: bills proposing to eliminate the deductibility of contributions associated with ticket purchases to college athletics events.
