New Orleans has great food off bourbon street. The town is a dump though (whole state is kind of dumpy). Walk bourbon street once just to see it. I think NO overrated and I don’t care to go back. I felt safe. I just don’t like the place.
I lived in DC for a few years. Great list. Old town Alexandria, on king street, has a bunch of restaurants as well. The waterfront near the baseball stadium is nice too.
Good luck. Mine burst and was in the hospital for 5 days. Because it had burst doctors had trouble diagnosing. 7 hours of tests before they decided to cut me open. Fun times.
Plan ahead. A lot of places are closed one day a week and the French love to strike. Girlfriend and I took the train to palace of Versailles and when we got there it was closed because of a strike. We bought the museum pass that helps you skip lines.
