    In basketball and football you are always right up next to each other and fans have no idea what is said 95% of the time. In baseball you are normally separated with the exception of the catcher and the hitter so when something does go down it looks a lot worse than it really is.

    The main issue any baseball alum has is that nobody was ever approached to save the program. Minnesota floated out the possiblility of eliminating a couple of sports the next year and donors stepped up to make sure that wouldn't have to happen.

    130 years of having a team of 35-25 people builds a pretty strong network. Look at any listing of the current boosters or lettwinners club members and baseball is probably only exceeded by baseball. Many of these guys go on to be very successful.
