Official: Jake Kelly Leaves Iowa For Indiana State

re: Official: Jake Kelly Leaves Iowa For ISU Why would anyone freely submit themselves to not only live in Terre Haute, Indiana, but actually play for Indiana State. I swear that school sucks talent out of players and never gives it back.

ALL UNI LOSSES IN NCAA TOURNAMENT SINCE 2004 CAME BY 5 POINTS

At first, these five point loses would at least make you feel better. Hey, we were competitive. But UNI has risen to a level recently where just showing up in the tournament is not enough, we need to start getting a win or two. Luckily, UNI has the same exact team back next year, so hopefully...

Do mid-majors have a legit gripe?

UNI has a home and home scheduled with transition team North Dakota. MVC teams for the most part (Illinois State this year is a glaring exception) schedule quite well. UNI played Auburn, Marquette, and of course our games with Iowa and Iowa State every year. Creighton had Dayton, New Mexico...

Do mid-majors have a legit gripe?

Do you know what you are talking about? The MVC has had three teams make the Sweet Sixteen since 2006. Bradley and Wichita State made it in 2006 while SIU made it in 2007. Not to mention our seeding gives us a much harder time to do so. Also, do people really think it is just coincidence...

4A state title game Linn-Marr vs. Ames

Heelan and Linn-Mar are there more, those are two schools that expect to go to state every year. Also, Linn-Mar is a bigger school than Ames, not sure about Heelan and Norwalk, but Linn-Mar has always been known to travel well for basketball.

4A state title game Linn-Marr vs. Ames

Re: 4A state title game Linn-Mar vs. Ames Ames was definitely the better team, but I think a lot of people over hyped them. Linn-Mar was in it the entire game without arguably their best player. Ames fans may say that Linn-Mar got lucky with their three point shooting, but that proves you...

    What about HS sports futility?

CR Jefferson is pretty bad at football, but they are generally pretty good at basketball and baseball. And if I remember, their softball team is always one of the best in the state along with Linn-Mar and Valley.

    Boys State BB Tournament

Are people forgetting that Linn-Mar has 3 DI players on their team? They will be the hardest team Ames has faced all season, and many of you think Ames can beat them handily if they play awful? Not to mention they just sent players to Wisconsin, Wyoming, and Gonazaga. This is their sixth...

    UNI to NCAA

UNI has the #1 seed for Arch Madness, a guaranteed bid to post season play, and a nice new banner to hang in our arena. That's all I care about!

    Save UNI baseball!

We are up to 45k now. Although I find it hard to believe an annonymous donor would pledge $10k. I hope its right though. I would hope we could get maybe a couple hundred thousands dollars in pledges. Hopefully the team is working on corporate donors and sponsors to get the big bucks. With...

    Save UNI baseball!

Yeah, I wish there was a way to know as well. Obviously this site is just individuals, where as I'm sure the staff and players are trying to get corporate donors. I'm hoping if we get close they will let us know so we can try and get a final push in fundraising.

    Save UNI baseball!

I know times are tough, and its a shot in the dark, but UNI fans are pretty desperate right now. It'd be a miracle of we pull this off.

    Save UNI baseball!

As Cyclone fans I know you guys have no reason to support UNI athletics, especially one like UNI baseball. But as you may know, UNI baseball has been given until April 5th to raise $1.2 million in order to save baseball for four more years. I know that I, and the entire Panther athletic...

    UNI to drop baseball

Where is the argument from a son's perspective. The college male athlete is the one who is struggling here. Men swimmers, baseball players, tennis players, and soccer players have a much harder time than almost any woman's sport. And that is because of Title IX.

    UNI to drop baseball

Yeah, I agree, if UNI is to drop baseball, it would be nice to see Wartburg be able to benefit. I bet the Hawkeyes are happy, a couple less losses for them every year.

    UNI to drop baseball

According to the Cedar Rapids Gazette, UNI is dropping its baseball program. Leaving Iowa the only DI baseball program in the state. Link: Sources: UNI dropping baseball | GazetteOnline.com - Cedar Rapids, Iowa City With ISU dropping its program in 2001, I bet you guys know how us Panther...

    #3 Linn-Mar at #2 Cedar Rapids Kennedy

    Final 79-48 Linn-Mar

    #3 Linn-Mar at #2 Cedar Rapids Kennedy

Yeah, the Gazette sure seemed to be trying to create a big Kennedy/Linn-Mar rivalry when in reality Linn-Mar is about to be the winner of nine out of the last ten. Also, Kennedy's big rival is Xavier (Battle on 42nd Street) and Linn-Mar's is Jefferson.

    #3 Linn-Mar at #2 Cedar Rapids Kennedy

I think after Kennedy's close call with Washington, as well as Linn-Mar currently thrashing them at home, its obvious Linn-Mar and Ames are the two best teams in the state. Ames has the best player, but Linn-Mar has played the tougher schedule and has the experience. Unless there is a big...

    #3 Linn-Mar at #2 Cedar Rapids Kennedy

In the 3rd quarter. 44-21 Linn-Mar I think a Linn-Mar vs. Ames match up at state would be a great state championship game. Linn-Mar has unbelievable experience at the state tournament, and obviously Ames has a great squad.
