I wouldn't mind giving Tamin additional time to rest and recover. He just goes balls to the wall on everything, so it takes a toll. At least the Monday-Saturday schedule this week gives him a bit extra rest too. If we sat him until the OU game, that's 8 full days of rest between games.
I would have at least liked to see a replay of the one where Gilbert drove under the basket and got spun in a 360. That looked worthy of a second look at least.
The only point he had that was possibly accurate was that they have the best starting 5. I think that's at least arguable. You simply cannot ignore the complete lack of bench when assessing their overall ability to make a run though. You just can't.
Yeah, that's a game where you hope they had enough ice bathes for everyone. I'd love nothing better than to see them get knocked off the other side of the bracket.
The hallmark of an elite player is having everyone in the building knowing that they're the one you have to stop, and still not being able to do it. The last ten minutes of their offense was 90% Shead and 10% the rest of their guys getting set up by him.
Yep, some of his best buckets are taking it into a lot of traffic and willing it into the basket or getting fouled trying. The definition of manufacturing points.
It's tough because you have to zip the ball around to try to get their defense out of position, but they were seemingly everywhere. Had a hard time getting past their initial defender or defenders, and even then, it's not like another guy was open cross court or anything. At times, I do think we...
Yeah, Tamin also got picked off on a screen where the screener looked like he was doing the limbo with his legs so wide, and Tamin got spun out by the leg.
Definitely, turnovers and free throws were the difference. I actually feel better about the remaining schedule and into the tournament. These guys are playing at a high level and no moment has been too big for them.
There is something about stepping up and hitting big shot after big shot that...
Fran said something to the effect that the new Houston football coach should be taking notes (possibly referring to the amount of moving screens). Rebounds were an absolute melee. So impressed with what we did there, but getting it was only half the battle. Had to keep it through all the shoves...
Yeah, I thought it was pretty slanted toward them in the first half, and mostly balanced out in the second. Kind of had to laugh when Rob got called for a foul for reaching over to tap out a rebound though. Probably the least contact on a possession all game.
Definitely. We have managed to control Cryer, but Shead is just so quick for his size that once he gets you on his hip, you are done. Not many dudes that are both strong enough and quick enough to neutralize him. Maybe Tamin when he's 100%.
Shead is the one guy in this league that you game plan to stop, and just can't. Similar to Buddy Hield and players like that. Definitely the player of the year in the conference.
