FAWcast: Tim Floyd, Malou & hardcore hoops talk

I think that's a fair statement. My point though, was that I believe if you give Hoiberg, Larry, and Tim the same exact team...Larry and Tim are going to get more out of them than Fred more often than not, because they'll demand defense being a constant, and hold players more accountable for...

FAWcast: Tim Floyd, Malou & hardcore hoops talk

Royce White/Chris Babb. Royce could've been a top 10 pick if it wasn't for his mental issues. I think Larry and Tim would've gotten better than an 8 seed with that team. I also think they would've gotten better than a 10seed with the next year's team. I think Hoiberg is a good coach...

FAWcast: Tim Floyd, Malou & hardcore hoops talk

Fair enough... As to your last point...I think Fred and Tim were the best 2 recruiters in Iowa State history, and players win games. IMO, I believe nobody got more out of talent than Eustachy, but that came with it's baggage. I think the argument could be made that Eustachy and Floyd got more...

FAWcast: Tim Floyd, Malou & hardcore hoops talk

Who would you say has been a 'great' coach at ISU then? Orr? Eustachy? Hoiberg?...I could make arguments against each one of them using your reasoning on Floyd. Floyd was great AT ISU...nobody is saying he was great in the NBA or at UTEP.

FAWcast: Tim Floyd, Malou & hardcore hoops talk

If he would've returned to ISU for a fifth year, he would've had a roster that consisted of... -Hinrich (Lottery Pick) -Nurse -Fizer (Lottery Pick) -Collison (Lottery Pick, told me straight up he would've been a Clone had Floyd stayed, but had no interest in getting to know a new staff) -Rancik...

FAWcast: Tim Floyd, Malou & hardcore hoops talk

Why are we making it a point to bash one of the best ISU coaches of all time? I realize not all of us were around when Tim was here, and that some of us were 10 year old Hawkeye fans at the time, so we can't really speak intelligently on his time at ISU, but aren't there enough other stories...

Register Opinion on President's Courtside Seats

Whether you are annoyed at The Register or at Pollard's response..I think we can all agree nobody looks like a bigger dip**** in this than Chip Baltimore calling his arena circle seats 'crappy'...boo freakin hoo... There are about 14,000 people there each night that would be thrilled to...

The best that never came... rank em

Collison would've been a Clone had Floyd not left. He was close to a commitment to the good guys before Floyd bolted, but had no interest in getting to know a whole new coaching staff once LE came in. He never really considered Iowa because Tom Davis was going into a 'lame duck' year and he...

The best that never came... rank em

Justin Holt from Indian Hills was an absolute beast as well...could score inside and out, and defended and rebounded at a very high level.

Should we make a change at Head wrestling Coach?

It's absolutely time for change...next year will be year 8 of the KJ era. We aren't even competitive with the elite schools anymore. It's to the point where you can just count on us getting absolutely pounded whenever we face Iowa or Oklahoma State (last year 6-33, 3-38). It's been a LONG...

    Marvin Clark

Was on the court banging with Louisville's bigs down the stretch of an overtime game to go to the final 4...are we so elite now that we're above guys that are good enough for Tom Izzo to have on the court in key spots as freshmen? If you look at Denzel Valentine, Travis Trice, and Matt...

    Marvin Clark

Clark was seeing big minutes in crunch time as a freshman for a final 4 team at Michigan State. He IS a big get for St. John's and would've been good for us as well. Last year he got hurt right out of the gates and was never really himself. If he's good enough for Tom Izzo as a...

Nikki Moody sues Bill Fennelly over Racial Discrimination...

This is the type of situation where you can really look foolish if you jump to conclusions and speak your mind one way or another... I think it'd be best to let this play out before commenting. The only thing I'll agree with is that nothing good will come out of this, regardless of the...

    Chris Beard to Texas Tech

Larry Eustachy is a name being tossed around as a potential candidate for the UNLV job, per Jeff Goodman. Would love to see what Larry would be able to do at UNLV with the built-in recruiting advantages. He'd have them contending with San Diego State for conference titles on an annual basis...

    Mount Rushmore of ISU Basketball

It's certainly a fair debate. It all depends on your criteria for choosing. If it's for best players of all time he about has to be on it, but if it's other criteria, it's certainly understandable not to put him on there. Tough to argue with... -National Player of the Year Runner-Up -Two...

    Mount Rushmore of ISU Basketball

It's all perspective...one thing to consider on your last point of Georges being ISU's only two time all-american is that now days dominant freshmen leave after a year...if Georges played when Thompson and Grayer did he'd have MUCH, MUCH tougher competition he'd be up against in voting for...

    Mount Rushmore of ISU Basketball

Kinda depends on whether you are looking for the most influential players/coaches in ISU history, the biggest fan favorites who were also stars, or just the best players of all time? IMO For me my most influential would be: Orr, Hoiberg, Grayer, and Thompson Popular stars: Orr...
