Jon Rothstein lists Deonte Burton as breakout player for 2016-17

Last in points per possession allowed as well. I think it's reasonable to hope for improvement in that area...I agree we won't be a 'defensive team', but I'm sure as heck not going to write off everything that happens on that end of the court because of that.

Jon Rothstein lists Deonte Burton as breakout player for 2016-17

I don't know? Using common sense tho, I'd say if we rank as the worst team in the conference again defensively, I would assume there will be times that people are upset with our defense. I don't think anyone expects us to be a shut down team defensively. I think people would like to see some...

Jon Rothstein lists Deonte Burton as breakout player for 2016-17

In response to gunnerclone...We were the 3rd most effecient offense in college basketball out of over 340+ teams last year...our fans didn't spend hardly ANY time 'maligning' anyone for their performance on offense...defense is where the criticism came.

    No one finds losing acceptable

I get a kick out of fans telling other fans how they should feel. "You shouldn't complain about choking the last two weeks because we lost by less than we were supposed to and we're getting better"... "We made the sweet 16 in basketball last year and people were complaining how many issues the...

***Official Iowa State Vs Oklahoma State Gameday Thread***

Just read a tiny bit of the thread (mostly fans arguing amongst themselves about how they should be behaving. It's ok to be p*ssed off and acknowledge improvement. Both are true. We've definately made big strides from the UNI and Iowa games...that being said, the meltdowns (on the field) the...

PRACTICE REPORT: Prohm challenging Morris to push the tempo in 2016-17

Also, Prohm comments on how we already have plenty of guys who can score, so minutes in the post will be earned based off of who can rebound and defend...also commented on Monte being more consistent on the defensive end in practice due to Donovan's ability to put points up in a hurry if he...

PRACTICE REPORT: Prohm challenging Morris to push the tempo in 2016-17

If you watch the interviews on cyclones.tv, it's fun to hear Prohm, Naz, and Monte talk about Babb. They make it sound like moving forward he could really be a good player for us. Obviously there could be some growing pains this year, but they really seem high on his upside.

Troy Davis Booked for Public Intox

Worked at a bar on welch for a couple years and saw both ends of the spectrum with Ames PD. Most of them were good people that weren't out to ruin anyone's night, and just wanted to do their job...then there were a couple that you could tell had never been in a position of power their entire...

    BREAKING: Feazell commits

Olajuwon was 7'0'' and Mourning was 6'10''. Dikembe was 7'2'' and an 8time all-star which makes it ok to classify as a 'star' in my book, but to each their own.

    BREAKING: Feazell commits

Olajuwon was 7'0' and Mourning was 6'10''...that wasn't the point of my post though.

    BREAKING: Feazell commits

The game HAS changed...but not necessarily for the better. You don't see many good 'back to the basket' 7 footers anymore. Ewing, Olajuwon, Robinson, Mourning, Mutumbo, etc..would all still be stars in today's game. I hope nobody doubts that, and they were far from slow and unathletic. You...

    OT: HBO's The Night Of...

Anybody else notice that the judge in The Night Of was the Yellow King in True Detective? HBO likes to stay loyal to their own.

****Official Class of 2017 Recruiting Thread****

You mean you don't think Mario Chalmers dad provided a lot of insight to Bill Self on the Kansas bench, and you think it's more than a coincidence that he was relieved of his duties after Mario left? A bunch of conspiracy theorists around here...

MLB: ***Official 2016 WORLD SERIES CHAMPION Chicago Cubs Season Thread***

Just hope they keep it around the waist instead of headhunting for payback over a pitch from Montgomery that was clearly accidental. P.S...nice to see Coghlan making me eat my words with a good game last night.

MLB: ***Official 2016 WORLD SERIES CHAMPION Chicago Cubs Season Thread***

Fair enough...although it's in far fewer plate appearances than LaStella, it's coupled with a.200 average with no homers, and the Cubs have 7 other outfielders including Almora that you could argue are all better options. My posts aren't to defend LaStella's current stance...I just don't...

Terrence Lewis commits to Iowa State

If I wanted to see 'jokes' that don't make me laugh I'd watch The Big Bang Theory. Humor is encouraged, but it's not humor if it's not funny.

MLB: ***Official 2016 WORLD SERIES CHAMPION Chicago Cubs Season Thread***

Theo, Jed, and Joe have been GREAT for the organization...but they really seem to be overvaluing Coghlan. They already have Fowler, Soler, Heyward, Bryant, Sczcur, and Castillo that they can plug into the outfield, with Almora probably a month away as well. Why is it so important to accommodate...

Not to mention the fact that LaStella is a guy that can be counted on to put the ball in play against good pitching in key pinch hit positions...would've been valuable to have in October.

I'm not a fan of how tommy has handled this either, but for the life of me I don't understand why we needed to send down a guy hitting.295 with a .388 obp who can play multiple positions for a 6th outfielder hitting.160 in August? Subtraction by addition.
