    No guarantee hiring another mid-major guy works..no doubt TJ would not be worse than Steve...but when hiring for a job, more often than not the better resume will be the better hire..doesn’t make it a certain.

    Didn’t say Lard wasn’t trouble..but do you think Larry, Tim, and Fred didn’t have knuckleheads doing the same stuff while still actually playing them meaningful minutes and retaining them?

    ‘Ties to the Midwest’ is the most overrated reason to hire a guy IMO. Floyd, Larry, and Fred are the 3 best coaches we’ve ever had. Tim and Larry had no ties to the Midwest. Look at all the guys they got. Cato, Willoughby, Fizer, Tinsley, Horton, Nurse, etc...even Fred had all kinds of success...

Last year could’ve been completely different if Wigginton and Lard would’ve returned. Lard obviously had baggage but was our most talented post and Prohm essentially drove...

    Defense is taught..you definitely don’t need to ‘pick one’ between offense and defense..most freshmen (good or average) don’t show up on campus whether it’s ours or a blue bloods being shut down defenders...teams that make deep tournament runs are almost ALWAYS good on both ends of the court

    I think Prohm is a good person but I’m over him as our coach...the West Virginia and Oklahoma losses were frustrating because I wasted to see the guys get rewarded for their effort and it was refreshing seeing us play better...but tonight was flat out PATHETIC..TCU puts up a shot, 3-4 red...

    Rebounding like total and complete dog**** wasn’t going to be good enough to lose this one...we had to dig deep and completely shut down any good ball movement and shot selection on the offensive end the final 10 minutes. Hopefully next year’s coach brings SOME type of toughness to the program...

    Wayne got hired after our first options turned us down because BVDV sucked...he was hired to keep the guys we had coming back and the recruiting class we had coming in..it wasn’t because of his resume

    Getting players hasn’t been a problem for anyone we’ve hired since before Orr regardless of where they’ve been from...coaching up and retaining those players has at times. Would be happy with Miller

    You have to have an identity as a team. You have to have a good staff that can coach AND recruit...everyone since Orr has brought talent to Iowa State. Some have been good at coaching up the talent and/or retaining it..some haven’t..and some have been somewhere in between. Everyone has brought...

    There are 100 available TJ’s...who hasn’t brought talent to Ames since before Orr? There are also a lot of coaches that have shown they can coach up talent more than TJ has..does that mean TJ would suck?...no..but to act like he’s a no brainer is incredibly short sighted
