25 highest paid coaches whose teams aren't ranked in AP Top 25

Captain Kirk is proof of the Financial Peter Principle. He's being paid now at the rate that a truly top flight coach should get for sharing conference championships and going to major bowl games. Problem is, those things aren't happening for the uofi right now, and it's iffy when the hoks get...

*****The Super, Mega, Huge Big 12 Expansion Thread*****

What's the over/under on this thread getting to 2,000 posts? oops, make that 20,000. my bad The conference needs to get to 12 teams. The ideal number imho. Allows for one more non-con game, and still lets you see all the teams in the other division on a regularly scheduled basis, so you know...

What was the first ISU football game you attended?

Got my love affair with ISU football started on the right foot by seeing what was probably the most exciting game in Clyde Williams field history. The 23-23 tie with Nebraska in '72. My vivid memories: being there when the gates opened and surging in with the wave of students. A Nebraska fan...

    $$$$$ From Bowling

Which cost us more in bowl revenue; beating OSU, or having a system that selected an inferior Michigan team rather than K-State to play in a big cash BCS bowl?

Bill Snyder is a good coach

    And still coaching at ISU!!

    Mike Sherman

Firing Sherman is obviously a brilliant plan by aTm to ease their way into the minefield that is the SEC. With a new head coach, and playing the SEC teams mostly for the first time, aTm makes it impossible for their new conference mates to prepare for them. I love it when a plan comes...

Does Missouri go bowling this year?

Mizzou? Bowling? Should we really care any longer? I don't. Good luck to them, it was fun to have them as opponents, but we start our next 100 year chapter of college football without them.

    Dear Missouri....

O.k., I hope Mizzoulander is still here. I have a question for him: WHY LEAVE? He or another reasonable, intelligent MU fan conceded in another thread that MU will likely normally finish in the middle of which ever division they end up in the SEC. Once in awhile when the stars align properly...

Bill Snyder Has Lost His Marbles

For ISU's sake, I hope that Coach Snyder's replacement in the form of his son works as well for KSU as Okie State did when they replaced Eddie Sutton with his boy. BTW, is that why they call it the "Snyder Family Stadium, or Field, or whatever?"

    We Just Went...

Seems like the "Texas A&M leaving the Big XII" has set the record for most posts to a thread. Any chance this thread will set the record for number of viewers, not necessarily leaving posts?

Players not made available to media after Baylor game.

I'm neutral on CPR's decision to deny press access to the players. The players should have enough sense not to spout off about what they felt was a screw job from the zebras. But in this age of instant venting via facebook, twitter, etc, etc, you never know what they may say, off the cuff, and...

BYU plane landed at the OU airport just now

A lot of the talk in this thread deals with the 'have nots' wanting 12 teams, 2 divisions (as it was before), so they can have 1 less conference game and 1 more cupcake non-con game, thereby making it easier to get a bowl bid. Why do we need to play a round robin format in the conference...

    SDSU interested in Big 12

If distance is the determining factor, consider this: It's 1780 miles from Ames to San Diego. The area between LA and San Diego almost makes it a worthwhile trip, imho, but it's still a long way. Would be a great getaway for a FB or winter time BB game, take in the Palm Springs area, etc...

Anyone notice Iowa's going after another one of our commits?

I don't know what policy ISU has about continuing to recruit athletes once they've given a verbal commitment to another school. Since there's ample evidence every year that many young people change their minds about a decision, it might be wise to keep a line of commuication open. But I really...

Anyone notice Iowa's going after another one of our commits?

Do uofi fans really, truly believe that the saintly hok coaching staff stops recruiting a player, just because the player has verbally committed to another school? I recall quite clearly when the local paper made a big deal about Brandon Meyer committing to UNI, a short time before signing...

    Tulane to the Big 12?

Maybe so. There was just that one dish of something that was inedible. The rest was pretty good. I'd go back for more if the 'clones are playing there.

My Plan for the Big 12

It's the best scenario for scheduling in a 16 team conference I've seen. I'm not sure about the school's identity, since supposedly the BigXII presidents/commissioners/athletic directors/expansion committee/whatever has put the kabosh to inviting BYU. Shortsighted imho, since we're inviting at...
