    Length of the OC search

I understand that it's easier to get excited about hiring 'someone special', a big name, someone with a big rep. But the most important thing is to hire the man who can take the players we have now and devise a system of offense that moves the chains consistently. A system of offense that...

    What we need versus Iowa

Better that we get the Iowa high school girls to see that they can get all the 'big time' atmosphere/experience playing at ISU, and not running off to Stanford, etc.

If you were the Big Xll commissioner would you add two more teams?

I have seen the arguments for adding TCU. My opinion is that they add little 'footprint' in TX, as small as their fan base is. I don't know how Louisville's fan base compares to TCU's. I do know that sports wise, Louisville is better. And widens the Big XII footprint. But, with the...

    When to Add Two

Perhaps after their first year in their new digs, there was doubt amongst their faithful. But now, with Mizzou leading their division, and Nebby playing for theirs, I bet they don't have many second thoughts. I still miss them, particularly Mizzou. And still haven't figured out for the life...

What Prompted Johnny Orr to charge Iowa Asst?

I am not sure if the original question about why Johnny took issue with the Hok coach was answered. If memory serves correct, John and Coach Davis had just shaken hands. The next Hok coach in line smarted off to Coach Orr something along the line of "you really homered us," meaning of course...

    Committed?

With all the de-commits, both for and against us this year, somebody needs to come up with a better term to describe the 'verbal acceptance of a scholarship offer.' Committed just doesn't reflect the flexibility that athletes seem to want in this day and age.

    Atmosphere Tonight- your thoughts?

We were there, Junior. It's just sometimes we can't get all the way to a standing position until the Big Play is over and the crowd is settling back down. Whoever said that the crowd sat back down after a big offensive play, when we should have been still standing and urging the defense on is...

    helmet idea

Oh, goody!! One more chance for me to plead for gold helmets, as our tradition dictates!! (Gotta say, I'm 65 and have a longer memory than some. Gold rules!!)

Logue on Twitter states Barnett and Morgan are leaving.

This sums it up perfectly. While he had great moments and a couple of great games, JB was not consistent. A trait we seem to have in all our QB's. It always hurts to have someone like JB leave. It's not a surprise to me, given the direction of events. I was hoping that he might go the...

***OFFICIAL BIG 12 EXPANSION THREAD 2.0***

Just checked future ND schedule. They play Michigan, Purdue, and MSU next year. Michigan, Purdue and Northwestern in 2014. Drop to only playing Purdue in 2015 (your in-state tie-in). In 2016 & '17 it's MSU and Purdue. 2018--Purdue, MSU & Northwestern. 2019 & '20, Purdue and MSU, with the...

***OFFICIAL BIG 12 EXPANSION THREAD 2.0***

I have heard this line before, and it might be true. But if ND has such a nagging grudge against the big10, why do they keep playing so many big10 schools, and thereby helping the big10?

DE Ernest Suttles not "All In"?

How much back and forth goes on in recruiting? What I mean by that is a scenario like this: Mark Player is being recruited by ISU. He visits, likes what he sees, and at the end of the visit is told by the staff he's #1 on their list at his position, and he gives a 'verbal commitment.' He...

    Rhoads discusses today's signees

The '72 game with UNL was my first Cyclone game in person. Intense even before the game. Was in the stands hours before the game. Saw a Nebby fan nearly beaned by an empty whiskey bottle, flung from about 40 yards away. Helluva throw. A kindly student went down and apologized to the couple...

Promoting the Big XII Academic Community

A good thing to hope for. But I fear it a forlone hope in the present atmosphere of conference-association-by-the-size-of-the-TV-deal. With athletic department decisions so influenced by the Big Bucks, any academic associations with other conference schools would be by luck only. More likely...

    2012 Big 12 Attendance

While I agree with the 'huge-stadium-70%full vs the-smaller-stadium-overflowing-with-rabid-fans' proposition, it simply makes sense to add permanent seats when you've got thousands of fans willing to spend money to sit on the grass-dirt-with-a-poor-view. Do it soon while momentum is in our...

Great news for James and his family. A very good early Christmas present. We be praying for you all. Grit and courage must run deep in the Pollard family.

Another commit bumped up to 3 stars!

Wowsers!! Does this elevation in Stardom mean that soon CPR's recruiting will be equal to the uofi's fabled Capt. Kirk? Where other teams wait to see what Unknowns the good Capt. has uncovered, then those other teams swoop in to try to poach the kid? I'm getting shivers just thinking about...
