    Iowa vs. ISU predictions

Have they painted "The University FOR Iowa" anywhere on the floor? That would make the gagging near universal for all Cyclone fans.

Who did we chose CPR over in 2008?

The Chiz had a history with Auburn as an assistant. Apparently, the Big Money Folks loved him, and were able to rationalize that ISU isn't in the same league as Auburn when it comes to support, appeal to recruits, etc. So they overlooked his 5-19 record and figured he'd do better at Auburn.

Does JP quietly stop by the Mangino household this weekend?

After the OU debacle (before the KU debacle) the commentators were commentating on the big difference in the talent level between OU and ISU. While it's highly unlikely that we recruit as well as OU, we need to narrow the gap. We need someone, anyone, who can recruit. Surely ISU and Ames, IA...

Scandal At North Carolina: Fake Classes, Inflated Grades

Seems like our competitors to the east of Ames have already been down this road. Remember the "Hawkeye Insights" class, attended mostly by athletes? The same light to none study load? Added to that was the revelation that several players were carrying GPA's that should have kept them from...

Now do we have permission from the Hoks to go ahead with the SEZ?

Wowsers!! I was merely trying to remind folks of how arrogant and condescending some our Hok friends are. I apologize for upsetting some of you. Please feel free to go back to your thinskinedness and lack of ability to see intentioned humor. I will now slink back into my den.

    Soundoff

I missed the Sound Off show Saturday. Can't wait for WHO to release the archived version on their website. There is scarcely anything more hilarious than hearing Hok fans melt down after losing to Iowa State. I still recall the screaming tirades that followed the 'Seneca Come Back Game.'...

Now do we have permission from the Hoks to go ahead with the SEZ?

After the announcement of the 'concrete' plans for the SEZ project, lots of our Hok friends willingly and sincerely told us how big a mistake it was for us. Now that the Cyclones have once again shown at least our equality, if not superiority, is it ok with them that we continue?

Odds to win the Big 12

Does the new 'Horns coach have to 'earn' the right to get the benefit of the doubt on all officiating calls? Or does getting the bennies just come with the territory of being the 'Horns coach? One thing the chart does point out is that we have a very tough row to hoe.

***Official NDSU @ ISU Prediction thread***

Not all night. I only ordered 16. (can't wait to see what bison tastes like. I'm guessing NOT like chicken.)

    North Carolina NCAA Violations?

Wow, and I thought Harrison Barnes went to UNC because it was such a solid tower of academic achievement.

Worst experience with a hawkeye fan

I know this thread is long past it's prime, but the 'service industry' line touched off one of my fave uofi memories. After ordering an Arby's meal, I drove to the pick up window. The ISU shirt and cap I was wearing caused the young man handing me the sack of goodies to pronounce, "I'm a...

Worst experience with a hawkeye fan

Went to the KC zoo the afternoon after the KU game in the BigXII tourney. All the KSU fans before and after the game with them, and the KU fans before and after the game with them were nothing but gracious and congratulatory. Well, maybe not the one KU fan who said he was sick of being nice...

Convince me the SEZ is a Good Investment (Long & Numbery)

This. Everywhere you look on Gamedays, there are more people making a day of it. Friends, family, old college buddies gather to share food and drink. It's become a picnic/party atmosphere. Yes, it's more satisfying if we win, but the gathering together is the thing nowadays. The hoks should...

Convince me the SEZ is a Good Investment (Long & Numbery)

The uofi also threw out similar arguments way back in the 50's when Iowa State College wanted to upgrade to university status. The uofi president, Dr. Hancher, publicly stated that the state of Iowa needed only one university. The need for them to feel superior is always there.

    Iowa Basketball Recruiting

Just like the rest of the BIG and other top 25 football teams, frothing at the mouth, waiting for Capt. Kirk to offer some previously under-the-radar player so they will know it's a kid they should want, too?

    Iowa Basketball Recruiting

Now he's not good enough for the Hoks? Judging from the comments on HN, he was the last piece of the puzzle to get them to the Final Four.

    Iowa vs Minnesota

Have the Hoks now lost to enough teams "not as good as us" for Aaron White to change his tune? That being said with tongue firmly in cheek, the Hoks are a good team and will (without worst nightmares cropping up) be an easy selection to the Big Dance.

South End Zone Plans Regents meeting

I'm more concerned about what we'll talk about on here when this is complete. GOLD helmets, recruits, which schools to get to make us XII again, or lacking that, change the conference logo to a sexy X

    Mack opts for USF

Wow!! We must have one heckuva recruiting class when we can make lighthearted jokes about a 4 star's decision to go to another school. I like this attitude!! No gnashing of teeth or pulling of hair. Next recruit in!!

    TTU attendance: 5,681

Boy, with the auditoriums in Lubbock and Ft. Worth bursting at the seams with enthusiasm, I can see now why there was so little interest in having a 'commuter' school with lousy attendance like Louisville join the Big XII. (No, I am never going to forgive the powers that be for giving entry to...
