We got big hail here too. It woke me up, and was shaking the house. I need to inspect things yet, but I'll be happy if we don't have any hail damage. I went out and saved a chunk that was bigger than a golf ball. Tangerine sized hail?
My wife has an iPhone that she loves. I have the basic cheap phone on the same AT&T account that I use for calls only. Neither of us has any complaints.
There have been a couple threads about this. Don't go hungry. The food is nothing special, it's ridiculously expensive, and you have to buy tickets to get it. If you think of it as a food festival, you'll be disappointed. If you think of it as concert with a large concession area you'll be okay.
I'm from Sioux City, so those duck, duck, grey duck players are freaks to me. A sloppy joe is sweet. A tavern is savory. This is basic school lunch menu terminology here.
2008 playoff stats:
Soriano: 1 single in 14 AB's (.071).
Ramirez: 1 single, 1 double, and 1 BB in 11 AB's (.182).
Lee: 3 singles, 3 doubles, and 1 BB in 11 AB's (.545).
Lee did fine in the playoffs last year. The rest of the team struggled.
I haven't been too impressed with Consumer Reports the few times I've looked at it. Just remember that you'll get a better product if you spend more money, and the bigger engine is always better, and you'll know most of what Consumer Reports says.
That would explain some things. I swear there were multiple missed calls in every game of the series. I'm not saying any of those calls determined the winner, but it's frustrating as a fan to watch a series like that.
I'm hoping that Kim Jong Il is a special kind of crazy, and his son will be a little more sane. He's rumored to have some western education, so that should be a good thing.
At least he touched the bag. I thought he came in awkwardly and tripped. Regardless, I think Cub and Cardinal fans can agree that the umps were pretty bad in this game considering it was a highly watched ESPN Sunday night game.
Zambrano tries to knock down batted balls with his pitching hand all the time. Oh wait, you said sane pitcher. Never mind.
He probably didn't try to interfere with the throw, but he did intentionally throw his hand up in the way, and the ball hit his hand. That should be interference to me...
+1
Joe Morgan went off on some stupid tangent (surprise) after this about how he doesn't like MLB's instant replay because it doesn't cover situations like this. How is it supposed to cover situations like this? Automatic ground rule double? That doesn't quite seem fair either.
Between the ESPN game and the FOX game, it was a pretty brutal weekend for announcing during Cub games. Plus no Ron Santo on WGN radio (which may or may not be a good thing). At least Keith Moreland did a pretty good job on color for WGN TV.
I'm sure he could field a fly ball, but I wouldn't want him going after a line drive down the line right before he's supposed to pitch again. Running after a ball could drain his energy, and then throwing the ball to the infield could put extra strain on his arm.
