The playcalling, pace, and tempo were refreshing and productive. I hope they decide to keep up the pressure going forward. I absolutely hate watching on your heals, reactive football.

Not only that, but the tempo was great. ISU came out with purpose and enthusiasm. Just let Rocco cook man...........

I was happy for the team to win. I was so sad for them to see Campbell return to recent form when the pressure was on. Just an absolute horrible coaching job last week. Inexcusable.

Not just offense. We also didn't bother pressuring a mistake prone QB.

This season? THIS season? Try at least year 3 of underachievement. Wasted talent, opportunities, and time. All because of a head coach that wants to always play it safe. We played scared against KU. At home. At night.

Coaching Staff In The First Half

Thank you! Sounds like KU's staff looks to take chances and have fun. Our's just wants to run clock and have a close game.

You don't think home games, at night, in November, on National TV, aren't controlling your destiny?

Coaching Staff In The First Half

You know, I love comments like this. St. Matthew has some real flaws with his strategy, and it appears they are never going to change. Instead of responding to specific and obvious critiques, we get immature taunts. Probably because deep down, everybody knows I'm right, and refuses to admit...

Coaching Staff In The First Half

He's just trying to minimize errors. It's what Brad Childress and Mike Zimmer did as coaches of the Vikings. It is what Ferentz does at Iowa, Franklin at PSU, Dantonio did at MSU, Chryst did at Wisconsin. Not quite sure how that system would work at a place like ISU once your opponents know...

Coaching Staff In The First Half

Possibly true, but what is worse is not even considering flipping the switch. This staff's risk aversion and stubbornness has cost ISU multiple games since 2021. As for the whole "it isn't that simple crowd", um, yes, it is. Plenty of evidence shows what you are doing is not working, and will...

This times 1000. Our coach now has the yips in pressure games.

Coaching Staff In The First Half

I want ISU to win. But also know that, under pressure, Campbell will revert to true form and play Mt. Union style. Which means ISU will probably lose against a quality opponent. He's KF with a tougher schedule. So, the new established floor is about 4 wins, and the ceiling is about 7 wins...

Coaching Staff In The First Half

That's because if you have problems in the back, you better do something different. Putting pressure on an error prone quarterback makes way more sense then hoping subs can cover longer. Our rush was mostly nonexistent.

Coaching Staff In The First Half

Dude, Campbell and his inept coaching/stubbornness is why we were down so much in the first place. He gets routinely outcoached lately, and for the same exact reasons. Going on at least 3 seasons now.

Coaching Staff In The First Half

So with a depleted secondary, you think the smart thing to do is, what, put MORE pressure on them? Make them cover for longer? Against a QB that has shown he gets rattled? Yeah, he can run. But he can also make huge mistakes and turn the ball over. ISU got completely outcoached in the first...

Isn't it interesting the production crew didn't show the available rear/sideline replay again?

Official Apology Thread: Has the rot set in?

They mostly recruited almost explicitly for speed. Which means they are undersized in places. But also means little mistakes against them are very costly. Probably not a huge difference in stars, but speed kills. Their coach knows how to use it, and also plays to win.

*** Official #22 Kansas vs IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

In fairness to Campbell, I don't know how he doesn't go even more crazy with some of the subtle screwjobs ISU gets. Not resetting the playclock, making ISU waste a timeout when they are trailing in the 2nd half? Ruling a kick return out at the 31 that went to the 3? Personal foul on a...

Almost as if it was intentional.............. Big difference between the 3 yard line with momentum and the 31 yard line.
