Asking again: Has the rot started to set in?

For those still flogging, many of us are thrilled that CMC made the necessary adjustments to philosophy and coaching. Things looked not just bleak, but ridiculous during the time this poll was started. ISU was being predictable and boring, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Someone...

The Coaching Turnaround Has Been Drastic

I love that he is coaching like 2017 and 2018 again as far as playing to win. I wasn't expecting it, but am very happy about that development.

The Coaching Turnaround Has Been Drastic

I believe we have better QB play and leadership now.

Yep. Best since 2020. I am happily shocked. ISU isn't being outcoached. Probably doing better than talent ratings for ISU would predict. Absolutely did NOT see this coming.

Still happy with the 38 run / 25 pass mix. And this it skewed to kill clock.

As an expert on complaining, can absolutely agree with this. Double digit road wins are always worth celebrating. Would love to see ISU ruin things for Texas, KU, and KSU.

Right here. Very happy for everyone, especially the players. Loved the fake FG and improved play calling. Amazed at the change across the board after the "hot seat" flare-up in Athens. Hope things continue this way.

    "Just throw it deep"

Is he? He's 15th in winning percentage overall since taking the PSU job. He's never made the BCS in 10 years, and probably never will in the future. High floor, lower ceiling. Great resources, recruiting, and visibility. Ferentz like.

    "Just throw it deep"

Franklin's offense sucks though. And absent a talent like Barkley, it looks pedestrian. Sounds familiar.

    "Just throw it deep"

PSU's QB Allar is averaging 6.9 yards per attempt against very weak competition. ISU's Becht is averaging 6.8 yards per attempt against good competition with a weaker supporting cast than PSU. This is Franklin being an absolute arrogant ******* because the questioner is absolutely correct...

    "Just throw it deep"

Coaches always love coming up with excuses for playing chicken **** football. Turnovers loom so large to them that they prefer the safe, predictable, and ineffective play calling. They forget that explosive plays can also slant the game in your favor, and have the added bonus of forcing your...

    "Just throw it deep"

He's being ridiculously obtuse. He doesn't like being questioned, especially when they are valid. Penn State has only played 2 teams with a pulse. His QB is sitting at 6.9 yards per attempt. That's getting into Hawkeye Land. Any decent football team has a couple deep plays in the playbook...

    49ers - Brock Purdy - Still and Always #1

Jones got $40 million per, $160 million total, from the NYGiants. Purdy is going to get absolutely paid by somebody.

    49ers - Brock Purdy - Still and Always #1

It is amazing to watch how comfortable he is at the next level, compared to his later years at ISU. And that is with a much faster game, confusing blitzes, and better coverage. Gannon's NFL show on Sirius were saying he's essentially a top 5 QB right now, simply because they were pretty hard...

Asking again: Has the rot started to set in?

There's also a reason he's lucky to have even ONE win against Iowa. One. With elite NFL talent on his rosters, including at QB. When you start every single season slow, even when you have experience, you are doing something wrong.

Asking again: Has the rot started to set in?

Yeah. That's what we were going on. We wanted change, and Campbell didn't bring it. Until people started calling him "Hot seat". Then, after already losing the Iowa game, and surrendering recruiting in the state, and losing to a MAC team, then, finally, Campbell abandoned CampbellBall...

Asking again: Has the rot started to set in?

The Big12 sucks this year. Big time. Only 2 ranked teams. And that is in a year where college football is down across the board.

Asking again: Has the rot started to set in?

One decent game doesn't excuse poor losses to Iowa and Ohio. Happy for the team, but Campbell needs to normalize this. I don't want to watch a worse version of Hawkeye football.
