    David Grant

Read an article in today's Lincoln paper saying that the kNU media guide doesn't list eight players due to academic problems. One of those is David Grant.

    Offensive lineman

I know I'm kind of prejudice but the "Jersey Boys" from '71. Both of whom were All-Staters in NJ and both were the starting guards on the first bowl team. Mike Terrizzi (1st team All-State RB) Ray Harm (Hon. Mention All-State WR) Ray only played 4 games his senior year in HS (broke his arm)...

    What is your opinion?

Blythe was good because he was the "main man." Ike Harris played along side Otto Stowe and Keith Krepfle. All three were excellent receivers. That team didn't have a "main receiver." They didn't need one. How good were they? All three had pro careers.

Where did the Hawk fans go?

In all honesty, is it really a year for Hawk fans to want to celebrate. Those living in or near Cedar Rapids or Iowa City would just be happy to have their homes back.

Best ISU FB Player from the 80's/90's/00's

I don't know if that is exactly fair. I do agree that Amundson was the best player. But he didn't do it just on his shoulders. Carlson was a pretty good QB on the '71 team (played with the Chiefs), and as I mentioned before ALL the receivers had pretty good NFL careers. Murdock was a jr...

Best ISU FB Player from the 80's/90's/00's

Don't forget with receivers - Wally Jones and Ottow Stowe. The '71 team had ALL its receivers drafted. Stowe got a Super Bowl Ring with the '72 Dolphins. The QB for that team? Dean Carlson, he also had a pro career, and the RB Amundson who Majors said was the best player he ever coached...

Best ISU FB Player from the 80's/90's/00's

It's kind of interesting that the most powerful decade in Cyclone history - the '70s - isn't going to be mentioned. When going to a bowl meant something - ISU went four times and the best team from that decade didn't even go makes you wonder why no mention of that decade. Is it because the...

    Best road game

I'll show my age a bit here - but it was at the Carrier Dome in 1969. The dome was a relatively new phenomenon. And Syracuse was a respectable Top 20 team. ISU was still learning the game under Johnny Majors. Syracuse won late in the game. But ISU was letting people see what the future...

    Who is Iowa's next coach?

There are communities across numerous states sand bagging - trying to save their homes. There are families and states in mourning today because of the devastation that occurred last night. And this is a thread for today? Please, get a life As an ISU fan I really could care less about EIU. I...

    Barney Ball is back!!!

I apologize for not posting this earlier, but with the demands of work and lately the weather it kind of got put on the back burner. Thought I'd share a story that appeared in the Lincoln newspaper about a month to a month and a half ago. The article was about the '08 kNU team and how...

After ISU, who do you root for in the Big 12?

All B12 teams except kNU. Never, ever, ever root for the football team. Though I will admit I do like their baseball team.

    Storm Watch

This is getting old - the whole state has been "under the gun" since 5 PM. Luckily, for me, most have been above I-80. Though right now, my county is under a tornado warning. It has the makings of a long night. It's starting to back build on the south side. What's worse is tomorrow could be...

    Chris Taylor

I was not there to witness it, but heard a story about a party he went too. It was at the time there was talk of maybe trying to make him a football player. The party was during off season. And was attended by a number of players, girlfriends, etc. Everyone was having a good time and as the...

LOST FINALE thread (yep...starting at 8 AM on this one)

Gonna have to record it. Won't start here until midnight. Every channel has tornado updates. So far a dozen have struck. Mostly in the center part of the state. It's just moving right across the state. Mostly north of me, but there are a few right on the Kansas-Nebraska border that could...

Living in this god forsaken state I'd love nothing better than watching Bates have a good year (career) at ISU

    Big Red's Sam Kellor...arena football?

I hate kNU football with a passion. And always thought Keller was going to be a bust. Even the fans wondered what Callahan was thinking. Than last spring people began questioning if he really was the better QB. But Callahan had already appointed him the next great leader. As someone who...
