McCarney was popular as he was a great interview, he finally beat Iowa and won the first bowl game, but he only had a few good teams. Generally, his teams weren't very good, just better than the 80s. Chiz and CPR had near the same facilities they have now. -

I absolutely disagree with this. Facilities are much better, but so are everyone else's. Still lag greatly and his results have eclipsed his resources.
