    I disliked Hollywood at one time, but he was better than most especially late in his career. Honoring any official could pay off in good will from the officiating union, couldn't' hurt. Much, much better crew today. Occasional bad calls each way, but at no time did I feel the altered the game.

    Different rules when you're an athlete. Coaches each get to nominate some. Academies also have prep schools that a lot of athletes go to for one year.

    No, it's because of the thick oil and degraded battery performance at extreme temps. New battery isn't likely needed unless its 4-6 years old. Changed the oil once in an unheated garage at -20 and I couldn't get the oil to come out of the bottle. It was like jello and would come out in pieces...

    If its high efficiency(PVC exhaust out the side of your house), make sure the exhaust/intake aren't frozen over. Seems more likely given the weather. The condensation can build up in colder weather. Hair dryer works to clear it if so. If it is the filter, pull it out and get one when you can.

    Gas tax is about 50 cents a gallon total state/fed in the average state (Iowa is right near average). If the average car gets 30mpg that would be equivalent to about 7800 miles. Actually, probably pretty close.

    Have a friend that got a root canal from a military facility that ended up getting infected leading to heart issues and a stroke in a healthy guy about that same age. Lost the ability to speak for several months but thankfully is mostly recovered now.

    Impossible to tell from what you gave. Go to any auto parts store and have them load test the battery and alternator. They'll do it for free. When you tested the running voltage you should have a high load, lights on, ac on etc. Could be the battery, alternator, your wires including grounds...
