    *** Official #21 West Virginia vs #14 IOWA STATE Game(day) Thread ***

Missed the front end of three one and ones. That's 3 more we didn't get to shoot.

Keep hope alive! But watch out for West Virginia.

Seth Davis: Hoiberg & Kruger are good for the game

For all the love from media types on the sidelines, no one is going to change their coaching philosophy until a team like Hoiberg's actually wins a championship. Loyola Marymount was as exciting as you could get with their fast paced offense. The media loved it. But it never took off because it...

The soft bigotry of low expectations.

Nope. The real premise is people are always whining about people criticizing how the team plays after losses. And the fact is holding someone to low expectations is more negative towards a team then actually pointing out their faults and how they can improve. If you are happy with a winning...

The soft bigotry of low expectations.

Like I said you can find just about anything. And yes some go overboard, but typically they are really idiotic if you know anything about the game. So I either laugh at them for being idiotic or skip them all together. I never said being positive was sunshine pumping. In fact my original post...

The soft bigotry of low expectations.

In general you can find just about anything on this board. Yes some people will totally give up on the team after a loss. Some people see the problems and discuss how the team can get better. And some just want to pump sunshine because they will literally be happy the end of the year no matter what.

The soft bigotry of low expectations.

I agree somewhat with the bickering stuff. But to me having low expectations for this group is way more "negative" towards these athletes then pointing out their shortcomings. You know who never gets criticized? Those who no one cares about or those who have been given up on.

The soft bigotry of low expectations.

If you expect little you will receive little. There are many posters who feel we are expecting too much from this team. The expectations are just too high. They don't want to hear about poor defense, poor free throw shooting, careless turnovers, and lack of rebounding. No criticism allowed...

    Heroball

I see why Cyclonestate78 is a legend. I didn't want to put the whole quote in, but this is exactly right. This is not about talent anymore. That may have been 4 years ago but not anymore. I would only add to the defense part, that better rebounding and stopping the careless turnovers is...

*** Official IOWA STATE vs Oklahoma Game(day) Thread ***

Yea, I don't even understand why not at least try a zone with McKay in the middle. How much worse could it be?

Niang needs to come off the bench

I wouldn't bench him, but he has been sloppy all year. He leads the team in turnovers by a large margin. And that does not count all the times he goes in between 2 and 3 players and just throws it up. Again, we need Georges, but let's not pretend he has been as good as last year.

I don't mind hedging to post, but can it be someone besides the person guarding Hield, or anyone else that makes 3 threes in a row?

I just want to go on record that if ANYONE leaves Hield to go double the post, and they kick out to him for the open three, I am going to go all Elvis like and shoot my TV!

    NCAA Tourney lineup...

14 points, 9 rebounds, 0 turnovers last night. WhoTF are we benching him for?

ISU @ Booniversity of Kansas Predictions

Ellis and Mason are great and I would expect them to have their typical big games. However, George and Monte are simply better. Everyone else is either a wash or ISU advantage. Bottom-line we are a better team. ISU - 80 KU - 70

    BLUM: Always a spectacle

Blum says, "It is one thing to win games and make NCAA tournaments, but what endeared us all to the Hoiberg era in the first place was the entertaining brand of basketball." Nope! What endeared me to Hoiball was winning games and making the NCAA tournament. I could give a rats *** about style...

    Please do not overlook TCU

Our largest conference differential is 6 points. Why would we overlook anyone?

    Positives to take away

Another positive is that we allowed 61 points in a half and still won! Not sure that has ever happened... probably won't again.

Get that... out of here! Weak...!

Anyone able to loop this video beginning at the 142:09 hour mark...or 7:40 of the 2nd half? Just a little Bryce and McKAy trash talk that I would like to play every time someone steps into my office. Multi-cam video: http://espn.go.com/watchespn/player/_/id/2318446/
