Pumping the brakes on the Tournament

If we score more points we'll win.

MAILBAG: Is Iowa State an NCAA Tournament team?

I think much depends upon whether NWB can continue to play a Monte-esque point. If he does I think we are as talented as last season. Jackson for now is shooting better then Naz (last season). Wiggington overall equal or better then Thomas. Young is Young. And combo of Lard & Brase can fill...

    Lard should start

I personally don't care if Lard starts or not. However he should play the maximum amount of minutes his fouls and conditioning allows. IF he could stay out of foul trouble and play 30 minutes a game (and I know that's a big IF), he would average a double double. We have no other big man that...

LeBron agreeing with Frank Martin: Follow LeBron James ✔@KingJames Man if it wasn't for Big Frank, Bruce Kelker, Willie Earl, @CoachDambrot @CoachDruJoyce I wouldn't be the player/man I am today! As a kid... ✔@KingJames they showed toughness and stayed on me every single day! Never sugar...

    Deonte, same here, thanks

I have really enjoyed watching Deonte and will definitely miss his play. And while I don't want to break it down to good Deonte/bad Deonte, I will say that if he should get really hot for a 6 to 8 game period, this team can beat anyone and will probably go far in the tourney.

Bad day for the Steven can coach crowd.

rochclone said: ↑ Most people just want to win. Lots of people from both sides that like to pound their chest...see the thread after the Kansas game annointng him as a great coach. IMO I think he is a very average coach that perhaps looks worse due to the other coaches in the league. I don't...

Bad day for the Steven can coach crowd.

^^^This^^^ I think it's about right. Which in my mind means we will need to win a couple in Conference Tourney to get in NCAA.

I have serious doubts about Prohm, but also hope he succeeds. This team is most likely NIT bound and I just hope he gives the younger players (Young especially) the majority of minutes to help in their development.

Can't believe the team will miss the tournament

Yes, lowering expectations always leads to success.

    Opinion of Prohm

My criticism of Prohm is based solely on in-game coaching. He is a man of few adjustments, seemingly no set plays, and an incoherent substitution pattern. To me his coaching ability is highlighted by one simple decision that kind of encapsulates his deficiencies. How does a coach evaluate a...

***Post game thread- ISU vs Cincy***

He has improved our D, but totally destroyed any resemblance of an offense except one and one.

*** Official Cincinnati Vs #19 IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

Terrible offensive coaching. Not just the end of regulation and OT... but the entire game. We run nothing! Stand and dribble until 8 seconds left then go one on one. That's our offense. Pathetic.

    Pre-game Pep Rally?

I know in NY at the sweet sixteen, everyone gathered at the team hotel to see the guys off. It was so packed, the hotel management tried to clear the building because of a fire code. Does anyone know if people are gathering at the team hotel or other place before the game in Chicago? I did not...

I'm a Virginia fan - Ask Me Anything

Great point. Our average score in our 11 losses was 81ppg. Our opponents average score in defeating us was 87ppg.

    All things Virginia

I know UVA is great defensively since I live here in the DC area. But if you think Brogdon or anyone else is going to shut down Georges one on one, you are kidding yourself.
